Geez calm down. It isn't anything personal.

I just don't see a team that almost lost 100 games last year, who made a few decent, but far from huge impact moves in the offseason winning 80+ games and being in the upper half of the league.

Maybe they'll surprise everyone, but I doubt it.

Considering Nevin and Hoffman, our 2 best players, were out for 3/4 of the season, as well as Klesko never being 100%, those guys healthy is a massive improvement in itself.

                Looking back at this thread...

                Giles was a bust.
Nevin was one of the better team producers.
                Klesko was a bust.
Payton really only played 3 months.

Still an 87-75 record after going 64-98...

Yea, I'll eat my crow. Padres were a lot better than I thought they would be, you were right.

We all knew going into the season that with the way the park was designed that he would have a tough time equaling his previous HR numbers.

Petco Park was designed to take advantage of the winds that sweep in from the ocean, thus the reason why RF is deep (or so I heard). Most of the construction around the place isn't finished so that may change. Giles really dropped off. I expected him to hit .300, hit around 30 home runs, and drive in a 100. I guess the park just got to the hitter's (except Loretta, 10 of his 15 home runs came at home).

I mean c'mon, even Kaz Ishii can hit a home run there.
