I was going to suggest this very thing; would be so appropriate and should be after a player anyway.

Today Major League Baseball opened the MLB Flagship Store in downtown Manhattan, the first ever permanent MLB retail location.

No new name until next year.
I never knew the MVP award had a name to begin with.

Whoever's name they pick, they should make that a fixture, like the CY Young. Even other awards should be like that too. Like suggested, Frank Robinson would be great choice.

Also...how did that guy have his name on the award for so long? He was the commish who banned the Black Sox and also pre-colour barrier being broken days. You'd think a guy like that would've been removed from the award ages ago.

I don't know if you've noticed this about baseball, but the majority is strictly opposed to change.

Banning the Black Sox wasn't a reason to take KML's name off the trophy. Banning the Black Sox was the right move.

every pitchers first pitch tonight should be a brushback.

the man was so dominant they had to alter the field by the lowering the mound. and even that wasn't enough, they had to reduce the height of the strike zone as well

Honestly had no idea Whitey Ford was still alive. Whenever an old-time Yankee dies, a huge chunk of baseball history dies with him.
