If that is what you took from my comments, then you really need to understand context and comprehend what you're reading before you go out of your way to try and correct someone's opinion.

And if its not clear then perhaps you follow up with questions or trying to understand another's point of view instead of being a dick.

        Re: MLB Off-Topic

I personally think there is a distinct difference in a change to the game that introduces 7-inning games, free base runners to start innings off before 1 pitch is even thrown, etc. compared to changing it to where the strike zone is called in a more precise manner by a nonhuman.

Increasing the accuracy of the calls on the field without changing the nature of the game is the type of progression I feel all sports should strive for. Your sport, it's play on the field, and rules all stay the same all the while the amount of human error from the officials is reduced.

Changing rules, shortening games by 22%, putting guys on base who made the last out in he prior inning... those are the type of changes people are complaining about, and rightfully so in my opinion. I don't think you can say the people complaining about those rule changes are hypocrites or humorous or whatever because they also think a more precise and consistent strike zone is beneficial to the game. Making a game 7 innings is not the same type of change as asking for the homeplate umpire to get sub-centimeter precision assistance on pitches thrown.

I will say I think 7 inning games is less of an issue than Manfred ball zombie runners.

At least in 7 inning games a bad groundout a popup and a strikeout won't win you the game like it can in Manfred ball. 7 inning games is still baseball, just less of it which for doubleheaders... whatever.

Extra innings baseball now absolutely rewards bad contact and (imo, not that that matters for anything) is pretty antithesis to baseball.

            All Star voting update

The new format which happened in 2019, which we all forgot or never knew existed, is that the top 3 vote getters for all positions, top 9 for the OF, make it through to the second round. In that round, you then choose between only those finalists, and that's how the starting lineup is chosen.

Surprised to see Vlad leading all players in total votes, even more than Trout!

If we're not blacked out when watching the other team's broadcast, then I've whiffed on trying that for myself for the past decade plus, and I'm just an idiot in that way for not having tried.
I just checked this. You're still blacked out even if you select the other team's broadcast as long as you're within the region decided by the MLB.

Starting to get some detail on the next trip by the A's to Vegas.
The A’s brass will be in Southern Nevada on June 21-22, for a more site-specific trip than their first visit last month, a source with knowledge of the plans told the Review-Journal.

In their first trip to the Las Vegas Valley, the A’s group met with officials from the cities of Las Vegas and Henderson, Clark County and various resort groups in what was described by Kaval as a fact-finding visit. Officials showed the team various sites where a potential baseball stadium could be built on that visit.

Next week’s trip will involve looking at specific sites and will include meetings with other officials and groups the team management didn’t get to during their previous trip, the source indicated.

Maybe we'll get another tweet from a VGK game... 22nd could be game 5 with Montreal, lol.

It depends on which team you're watching (regardless of broadcast). I can't watch a Giants game as long as I'm in a region that blacks out Giants games (sadly, this goes even as far as Vegas). If they were playing the Mets, I also couldn't watch as long as I was in a region that blacked out Mets games.

If you're on the east coast and want to watch the Diamondbacks take on the Giants, you're good.

Where the game is played is irrelevant. It's about which teams are in the game. If the game "could" be available in your local market based on available cable packages it's blacked out.

(I say "could" because over the years that line appears to have changed)

Best example I can give is that I used to live in NE PA when I went to college and had MLB.tv because I'm an A's fan.

YES network was available on certain cable packages but not on the one our college had so I couldn't watch it in the dorm and it was blacked out on MLB.tv so if I wanted to watch the A's when they played the Yankees I would have to go to a bar (regardless of if the game was being played in NY or Oakland).

This was over 15 years ago though but it has never gotten any better. I get extra innings now so I don't have nearly as many issues as I used to.

So apparently June 21 the league will start handing out suspensions for pitchers using foreign substances.

                          Who gets caught first?
