I’m curious to see how the discipline is handled if there was any wrongdoing. The Mets GM for a few months Jared Porter isn’t eligible for reinstatement until after the 2022 season. If sending repeated texts and pics of your junk gets you two years it’s hard to see Bauer ever playing again if the allegations are remotely true

Toronto FC of the MLS will be returning home July 17th.

NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs have been going on with Vegas and now TB going to/from Montreal.

I'd imagine Jays are next. Hopefully by the all star break we'll have a specific date of when they can return home.

Any recommendations on where to go to buy a jersey? I went through the Mets website which directs you to fanatics and it’s a total disaster. I’d like to get an 80s jersey, not necessarily with a players name/number on it but the only player they have is Piazza who never played for them when they wore those jerseys. Then they have a retired players section but you can only get a current jersey with a bunch of players who never wore the current jersey

Big update on the sticking points between the Athletics and Oakland. Still a fundamental disagreement in the funding setup which may not be voted on until September.

Fanatics imo is one of the worst things to happen to online sports shopping. Absolutely the worst all around experiences trying to shop there. If not for the Raptors winning and me going crazy on title merch, I'd have never used a single sports site powered by fanatics ever since they took over everything years ago.

Best bet might be something like Ebay?

Mitchell and Ness has throwback stuff too, but usually it's double the price of current stuff.

I'm hoping MLB includes the As and Rays stadium situations as part of their CBA talks. They really need to get these done asap because its holding up major deals in other cities either with relocation or expansion. Hundreds of millions of dollars if not more are up in the air because of these two teams.

I always find the administrative leave stuff a bit funny. You're still paying the player, they just can't play. If they turn out to be innocent then they were punished for something they did not do. If they are found guilty you continued to pay them the whole time.

The MLB can do what they want, but I still lean towards letting them play until the investigation is done. The leave policy gives off too much of a guilty until proven innocent vibe that I can't jive with.

Paid leave is a pretty standard thing for any group that has a union that represents it. Happens to teachers, police officers, etc

Not even just those with unions. It's a pretty common business practice.

They pay because they don't know all the fact yet but if it's true, more damage can be done by letting the person work if they know they are on their way out while the investigation is going on.

I would say that may not be true for baseball unless he wanted to crazy with headhunting but it's definitely a very common business practice.

The baseballs used during the HR Derby on Monday will not be stored in the Humidifier. And it's supposed to be 95 on Monday.

We might see a couple of balls completely leave Coors Field. This is gonna be ****ing awesome.

He's not in the comp, but since he's there anyways...can Vlad just take BP before the derby?

I know it is a common thing in most avenues, I still find it strange in these sports. If he is innocent then you took away some starts from an innocent player. If he is found guilty then you can suspend him immediately. Does it actually hurt the brand of the MLB to allow a player under investigation to play?

It seems like they think it does. I read a few articles and a handful of tweets about Bauer and whether he would/should play last Sunday. So there was certainly attention on it.
