    Re: MLB Off-Topic

I'm watching the Yanks-Jays game right now, and Buck Martinez just said that umpires haven't been rubbing up baseballs for the past fifteen years. I recall when they used to rub up six dozen baseballs before a game.

How about we go back to that again? Don't make the umps do it, but you sure as hell better not be throwing pearly whites out there. If that's what's happening, then I don't blame pitchers for not being able to get a grip.

That being said, I'd love for them to just stick to rosin if possible.

I also find Glasnow's comments weird, is he expecting sympathy? Go ask whoever it is you need ask whether if what you have been doing is legal and if it isn't then that's too bad, does he expects to be allow to cheat? Or since the official rules haven't been handed down yet, keep using what you been using until then.

I really don't care much about it, if its really as prevalent as they say and useful as they say, ok then deal with it.

But this is an instance of something that feels manufactured.

Then again, I never had a problem with pitchers dominating.
Sometimes pitchers do well. Other times you have guys like

        "checks notes"

Adolis Garcia, Jesse Winker, and many others with 15+ homers before Father's Day even though they probably have no reason to have that much power output.

Maybe a nice mix of both that happens as a result of no unnecessary and manufactured incursions is a good way to go? Too crazy an idea?

Unpopular opinion, but I'd rather see these alternates replace the road grey jerseys for many teams in the league.

            Re: MLB Off-Topic

I'm a fan of classic white vs. gray, and alternates every so often (not for both teams at the same time).

I loathe powder blue uniforms, and for some reason teams can't help themselves but go fully powder blue with their pants as well. White or gray only, please.

I feel like I have the unpopular opinion in these instances, though.

It's the entitlement and resentment you see from people who have been allowed to get away with ****. Totally tone deaf.

Ohtani will be in the HRD.

Vlad said he's open to it as well.

I think McMahon (Rockies HR leader and 10th in the MLB in HR) could have a shot too for obvious reasons.

Would be cool if Tatis and Acuna joins as well.

Vlad is out of the HR Derby, good for him, my position for some time now is that there is really nothing to gain from participating in the HRD. You might get injured, mess up your swing etc.

When is the last time someone got injured from the HRD? Judge in 17 went and participated while nursing a shoulder injury at the time, so it is hard to count that one since he was already hurt and should have sat it out.

I feel like people really exaggerate how likely a player will get hurt during these allstar events. People avoid the dunk contest health reasons which is always a load of crap, imo.

Vlad says the reason he's sitting out is mainly because he just wants the extra day off and wants to play a full 162 game season.
