I'm glad they made the "Little League Classic" an annual game at Williamsport.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Agreed. I think the Williamsport game keeps its charm because all of the kids get to attend. I'm not sure if the Iowa game will have the same lasting charm, but I like that MLB is trying new things

Would be a way for MLB to be played in places it’s never been while giving back to the local community.

This is an absurdly good idea.

The Pasadena (California) Police Department has been investigating the allegations against Bauer for more than three months and has yet to make any charges or arrests. Major League Baseball has been conducting its investigation for about seven weeks.

Bauer's administrative leave, which dates back to July 2, was extended for a sixth time on Thursday afternoon with consent by the MLB Players Association. Bauer's leave will run another eight days, this time through Aug. 27. MLB's decision is not dependent on a criminal conviction, but the league is not expected to determine the length of a potential suspension until the legal process plays out.
Now that there is a ruling on the restraining order, yet the criminal investigation or MLB's investigation has not concluded, is MLB going to keep Bauer out indefinitely? If MLB reinstates him (while it concludes its investigation) will the Dodgers take him back? Sounds to me like Bauer is out with pay for the rest of the year and will get traded in the offseason.

Joey Votto is having a crazy season here... started slow, I thought we might be seeing the end of his career, then he hit a homer every day for a week in July, now he’s hit a HR 4 straight times after Castellanos has been HBP in front of him. The team is now in the 2nd WC spot tied with SD, it’s been a joy to see all come together over the last few weeks, looking at the standings every day to see the GB column shrink. It’s been a youthful throwback for me, I’m hoping we can continue to climb and maybe pull off something special. Who knows. Go Reds!

I don't know if they are gonna die. But seems like it. They hold no major licenses to the big three sports after MLB runs out. Kind of crazy.

Panini has really taken over everything but baseball. I would have never seen that coming.

I’m 31, I think Miggy and Pujols are the only guys I’ve seen beginning to end (well, not yet) hit 500 for their career. Yeah, I was alive for ARod and David Ortiz (began MLB career in ‘94 and ‘97) but wasn’t watching as a fan yet when those guys kicked off their pro career.

This was a fun moment to look back on. I sometimes think of my lifetime of watching sports as a “career.” At this point, not sure how many players are around from the beginning of the century in any sport.

Next up, looks like Trout. Of course.

I hate how Fanatics is taking over everything.

The stores online suck, and products are overpriced. Not friendly to international customers at all. Used to be so easy and convenient to buy stuff from various retailers here, now there's really only 1 or 2 places I go to for sports stuff because Fanatics bought up everything else.

ESPN polled 20 players regarding possible changes in baseball. Obviously a small sample size, but interesting results.

It's almost split 50-50 on if games go too long/pace of play is too slow.

Guys were on the fence about if shifts should be regulated, but over 60% said yes.

Over 60% said analytics weren't being used properly in baseball.

80% said baseball doesn't need fixing.

It's always interesting seeing player or gm polls and seeing how different they often are compared to fans.

I'm surprised DH wasn't asked about. Only Turner brought it up saying he would implement it in the NL, too. I also liked Mullins saying 500 foot HR's should count as two runs and batters should have 4 strikes, lol.
