Crazy to think that despite any baseball fan under the age of 70 knowing the Giants for being in SF, and Dodgers for being in LA, that after all these decades, both franchises are still a decade away from being in their current city longer.

          MLB Off-Topic

The NL is giving away one (1) free Wild Card spot, but there are no takers. 5 teams within 4 games, yet none have played above .500 ball in the last two weeks.

I should be happy because it’s allowed Cincinnati to stick around in it, but we’ve pisses away the weakest schedule in the league while the Padres have endured the toughest. We really don’t deserve the spot we’re in. Waiting for the team to flip the switch but we might have used up all our juice getting to this position in the first place.

I know people hate it, but I'm about ready to just merge things.

8th in the AL would have a 2+ game lead in the 2nd WC spot in the NL and 1st in the NL East, being 4th overall in the NL.

With minimal interleague play, it doesn't bother me that the "8th in the AL would have a 2G lead..."

I mean, nearly the entire ALC is sub-500.

I'd rather see 2 divisions per league, and a ladder playoff (not dissimilar to what they do in Korea)...but I'm pretty sure no one agrees with me.

It's funny to me that MLB has gone from two leagues to two leagues with divisions and then two leagues with multiple divisions/wild cards/interleague...and you guys essentially want to go back to how it was in 1968 and before. I'm not opposed...but that is basically what you are wanting.

And the 2nd best record in the NL, and baseball, would be leading all divisions in the AL, but will have to play a one game wildcard playoff game.

The 3rd best record in the AL is 25-29 against .500 teams and is leading a division in which they are the only team with a .500+ record.

I don't get the if this team were here then this view point.

You play 162 games total, against pretty much the same teams as your divisional foes, to win your division. If you cannot win your division then I have little apathy for whether you get into the postseason or not, and if so, where you are placed.

I look at those changes more dealing with the playoffs structure, and I don’t think anyone wants to go back to the best team in one league facing the other with no playoffs.

MLB announced that starting this year and going forward, Sept. 15th will be Roberto Clemente Day.

EDIT: Based on Joey Votto's jersey, all players might be wearing 21.
