Wow, That's weird because I just traded for Hamilton in my D-Backs franchise...

EDIT: Hearing Rangers are close to acquiring Hamilton.

Rumors are that it is Choo for Hamilton straight up, which would be an interesting trade to say the least. I'm doubtful about that source, but when TR Sullivan (basically the Rangers' mouthpiece) is announcing it (about Hamilton to the Rangers, not Choo involved), the deal is close to done.

Edit: Told Choo is NOT part of any deal.

Choo is not involved in the deal via Bill Shaikin

If I were Hamilton I would sign and mail every homerun ball I hit to Artie Moreno.

The talks are still “complex” and “volatile” and remain incomplete, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports (Twitter links). If the deal is completed, the Rangers will take on less than $15MM and will not send any players to their division rivals.

Multiple reports indicate that the lack of state income tax in Texas is playing a role, with Bob Nightengale of USA Today tweeting that Hamilton will cede some pay to make the deal work. Hamilton’s gains through tax avoidance would, presumably, even things out (to some extent, at least) on his end.

If the proposed transaction is indeed one in which the Rangers would assume some of the contract without sending anything in return, and in which Hamilton would give up some guaranteed money, it is not hard to see the complexities. Both the league and union would surely want to take a close look at a deal of that nature.

Here's a question: if Hamilton indeed goes back to Texas how many of his former teammates are there? It seemed like he had a good support structure down there and they kept him from self imploding on himself.

Wasn't there some coach over whatever with him there too. I don't remember if the guy went with him to LA or not, though.

Scherzer injured his thumb while batting and said he now thinks the DH makes sense. With Waino's injury, I wonder if it'll happen? If an injury to a catcher changed the game, certainly is naive to think an injury to a pitcher on a "unimportant" act could strike a change.

I wouldn't entirely like it, but I do get it as MLB could use it a reason to boost offense (though it'd be a temp fix with today's hitters being such free swingers).

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Garrett Richards blew out his knee running to cover 1st base. Let's just make all ground balls to 1st automatic outs. Don't want pitchers to get hurt.

Wait, Ryan Howard and Manny Machado both hurt themselves swinging, too. Better not let 3B or 1Bs hit either.
