They'd have to go to the NL East. So Marlins seem most likely to make jump to AL East? I'm sure even the AL East teams might prefer Montreal over Miami(since Montreal is much closer travel wise).
The current alignment sucks with interleague play every day of the season. No reason they couldn't move to the NL East and we could go back to the previous set up.

The setup right now is perfect. 15 teams in each league, 5 teams to a division. What's so bad about an interleague game every day? Big deal. What was stupid was having one division with 4 teams and another with 6.

Rather than a team moving I'd want the league to just add two expansion teams instead, hitting the nice round 32, than either go with 8 divisions of 4, or 4 divisions of 8.

I think MLB has the best division format in sports. NFL would be 1st,except for the fact that their divisions are more based on rivalries and not so much location(Other than the AFC and NFC North divisions, all other divisions alignments aren't that great(3 florida teams are in 3 diff divisions, Rams play in same division as teams by the pacific? Cowboys in same division as teams by the atlantic)).

So I don't want to see MLBs divisions changed up. I actually hope NBA and NHL go to same format as MLB one day. People complain about west conferences being stacked..you don't hear that argument in MLB. Cause it's no east/west conference. The only argument has been a specific division being stacked(AL East for longest while) but with 2 WC spots now,we could see the top 3 teams in a division make playoffs.

I personally don't like interleague games on opening day and the final day of the season. Doesn't ruin baseball for me but just preferred it the way it was before.

I feel the same here. Interleague play isn't the gimmicky "ooh wow" thing it used to be but that's a good thing IMO. It's not the worst thing in the world to have it the way it is but I remember the World Series having a bit more mystique since the two teams never saw each other in the regular season. BTW have we had a World Series where the two teams have met in interleague play that season?

Anyways, I think moving the Rays to Montreal and staying the AL East would greatly benefit the team as there are a lot of Boston and NYY backers that live not too far from the city and that would bolster attendance numbers when the team isn't really in contention. A new ballpark would probably be one of those real intimate parks integrated within the city and have a seating capacity of 35-38K at the most.

I personally wish they would get rid of Interleague play. I'm not the biggest fan of it. I would prefer they set it up where you play your rival of the other league 3 home and 3 road.

I also wish they would switch the Brewers from NL to AL and Astros from AL to NL.

Not every team has a rival in the other league though....

But interleague schedule needs to be fixed. We see matchup like Yankees-Mets every year(two series),meanwhile rest of the AL East only face Mets every 3 years? How can you be in same division but have slightly diff schedules?

Division vs division each year is what it should be. Regardless of rivalries. So one year all AL East teams face all NL East teams, all AL Central teams face all NL Central teams. Following year all AL East teams face all NL Central teams, all AL Central teams face all NL West teams, and so on.

So that way interleague schedules within the division is even.

Agreed, but they have something set up where you play your "rival" now as it is, so just make that a 6 game series (3 home 3 road) and call that Interleague play. I would much rather take the additional interleague games and use those to add one more series to teams within your division.
