How have I never noticed that Baseball Reference notes that Paul O’Neill is a lefty kicker?

    Reference for you youngsters here...

I always felt the New York Football Jets missed a golden opportunity not signing the Warrior as a kicking prospect. maybe some of his championship winning attitude would have been infectious and rubbed off on an organisation that hasn't won a single championship in well over half a century

As a kid, I hated Jim Bowden for trading him, and as an adult…while I can understand why Bowden traded him in that his production had decreased the prior two seasons…as soon as he got to the Yankees he blossomed into the hitter everyone in Cincinnati thought he would be almost overnight.

While Roberto Kelly, the “5-tool player” he was traded for…crashed and burned.

          This is interesting

My 2 big takeaways here, Vegas won't take the As if the stadium they'd have to build will be publicly funded (at least not the amount the MLB wants it to be).

And the biggest takeaway, MLB Owners will approve the move if/when it gets to the approval stage.

20 year old NPB (Japan) pitcher Roki Sasaki just threw a 19-K perfect game....the first in NPB in 28 years....maybe the next big international pitcher?? Probably a few years until he could be posted...IDK exactly what the rules are

this is just IMO/hot garbage take but I'd bet my left one, while if push comes to shove, the A's WILL leave Oakland if they have to.
but they'd rather stay, they're using Vegas to see if Oakland will build them a new stadium.
if the A's feel like Oakland isn't in love with them anymore, then it will be ''move on to Vegas''

I like the numbers on the pants, a nice connection to their sweet 70s and 80s uniform

A city will foolishly build them a stadium. Even though these deals never work out the way they are supposed to when the city sells these deals to their voters.

Jan 2024 is the deadline MLB put in place, and in that context I think it's 80% that they go to Vegas. The Howard Terminal stadium deal in Oakland sounds great, but this is Oakland we are talking about.

It's obviously gonna fluxuate and change, but I just saw that Robbie Ray as of right now is the all-time leader in strikeouts per 9IP.

Today is the Mets' 60th birthday.

April 11, 1962 was the first ever game for the New York Mets.

Am I just making this up, or don't the Reds always play at home on Opening Day as a sort of honor for being the oldest MLB team? I just noticed today is their home opener...did the lockout messed up that tradition, or am I completely wrong?
