Kind of surprised that Strider wasn't a top 3 Cy Young finalist. Wins signifying something holding value has been overcome, ERA less so (admittedly, it is a more muddled case than with wins).

Ya, and his ERA is a function of sequencing - his FIP led the league at 2.85 (xFIP 2.92). Combine that with 20 wins and all the K’s and I figured he was a finalist for sure. Really odd, TBH.

Hopefully having places outside the stadium to hang out at after the game will make it a little bit less of a nightmare to get out of the parking lot after games

Ahead of an expected vote next week on the Athletics' proposed relocation to Las Vegas, Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao sent a letter to 15 MLB owners asking them to deny the move.

This ain't gonna work. The owners love money and I'm sure they'd like to party in Vegas too. Sorry Oakland.

This is a no brainer. The Warriors and Raiders left Oakland for a reason. The A's are next.

So WHEN we find out relocation is happening, when would it take effect?

As last season were at times WORSE than the MLBs joke of a move having Expos playing in PR (As had games with attendance under 3,000. Not even Expos in dying days did that.).

If you announce a move and the team still plays in Oakland for a year or two, how bad would it get attendance wise and unruly fan wise?

Would it actually be worth it if they had to pay extra to break a lease or something to get out of there sooner since the money made in Vegas getting a team a season or two early would be more than the cost to get out of Oakland earlier.

I'd still go to games. Then again, I'm not an A's fan. It's still a fun time out regardless.

People would still go for a "last time ever" type of thing, but don't think outside of the opener and final games you're getting the crowds.

Even last season, the bigger attended games only happened because of fans trying to make a point.

What point do you have to make when it's already made official you're team is going.

Isn't the point of the protests for them to sell the team to somebody who wants to stay in the Bay Area?

I know they're "already going," but I guess the hope is to sell and double-back on said move.

I'm not sure it matters much either way once its finalized.

Sad to see and just as sad to see some folks rooting for it.

A team in Montreal isn't coming anytime soon if that's what you're hoping for.
