No, there were an unequal number of teams (10 and 8, 12 and 10, 14 and 12) between the AL/NL which is different than uneven. There has always been an even number of teams in the entire league and in each individual league.

Yup...I went back and looked at the expansions in 1961, 1962, 1969, 1977, 1993, and 1998 and each was an even number of teams added.

Ah, I misunderstood what was meant by "uneven"

As a part time Cubs fan I remember.

As a Rich Hill and Carlos Carrasco fantasy owner I'm very pleased with tonight lol. Did everyone see Carrasco tonight? 9 IP, 15 K, 2 BB, 1H. He's probably my favorite pitcher in the league right now, not on the Jays obviously.

I really can't think of anyway that Jackson's situation was worse than Rose's...and if Jackson WAS trying to throw the WS he did a poor job. Look at this stats!

Okay, if you simplify it like that than I have to agree with you...but that situation can't be simplified like that IMO.

Probably true. I don't know the stories that well, I haven't researched them that much and I'm just a young dumb kid.

It's more the fact that this guy hasn't started in the MLB since 2009 and now has had 3 straight Cy Young type starts, IMO. All have been 7 plus innings and he has had 10 K's in all 3 of his starts. Given up 3 runs in the 3 starts all coming against Toronto. He has a 30:2 K/BB ratio. A 0.52 WHIP, along with a .127 AVG against. I knew he was a good pitcher before but then lost it because of injuries and became a AAA guy. Also he only really has had 1 good year. 2007 when he went 11-7 with a 3.92 ERA, 183 Ks, 63 BBs, and a 1.19 WHIP. Other than that season he hasn't been that good. Out of the bullpen in 2012 he was alright as well but going off of his appearances and innings he was probably a lefty specialist.

Seriously though, anytime I think of Hudson I think of such a missed opportunity as he was really hitting his stride and pitching well toward the end of 2013 as we geared up to start the postseason.

Not for the faint of heart:
