I loved that respect commercial with Derek Jeter.

I don't understand why the media is making a big deal about Wainwright gifting a pitch to Jeter. Did the pitcher who threw Ripken that meatball catch the same flak?

Partially because the game "counts" now, mostly because it's a slow time in the sports world so they need to pretend to be upset about something.

I wish Waino wouldn't have apologized for it. He claims he was joking or he misspoke, but I doubt that's the case. There is nothing wrong with going soft on one pitch to an all-time great living, playing legend. It didn't lose the whole game for the NL.

Besides, if anyone has earned the right to decide which league gets home field advantage in the WS, it's Wainwright. Dude has closed a WS out and started as an ace in one (and it would be two if he wasn't hurt if I'm not mistaken).

I'm no fan of the Cardinals, but I respect Wainwright's talent, career, and his decision to pay homage to Jeter.

Everyone wants to love on the Jeter Farewell Tour, but one guy does something really cool, and he's catching crap for what could potentially happen down the line. Whatever.

Exactly. So one pitch and one extra base hit is going to decide the entire remaining 80 games plus the entire playoffs?

It had to happen. I hated he extension when we gave it to him…bulky, slow, power hitting second basemen with poor gloves don't age well.

I always saw the poor glove, but people actually said he was good defensively. La Stella is better defensively to me than Uggla and La Stella is said to be average at best.

Jim Callis reporting that the Astros didn't sign Brady Aiken, and will receive the #2 pick next year.

I believe 5pm was the deadline to get a deal done.

                            4:30 I think.

Good. The Astros don't really deserve it with how they went about this. Now they lost all of Marshall, Nix and Aiken.

I never wanted him to begin with. Always hated Uggla.

It sucks. Of course you are going to get paid less if you have a potentially messed up UCL. Haven't read yet on what went wrong with the other two.
It says we get the No. 2 pick next year, but what if we end up having the worst record? Would that mean we get the 1st two picks of the draft next year?
