Re: MLB Off-Topic
It amazes me how many pitchers on my college team didn't throw a changeup (or an effective one at least).
When I graduated and became the pitching coach they all wanted me to teach them my splitter which I would but only if they were willing to learn to throw a changeup as well.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
It seems that many times these days I am blacked out of the game that is broadcasting on MLB Network, yet I never understand why.
I live in California, and the games that are in progress are Minnesota @ Cleveland and Kansas City @ Tampa Bay.
As I said, this isn't the first time they have done this. It would make sense if it was also on ESPN, FS1, TBS, WGN, whatever... but it's not.
I have DirecTV, by the way.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

You're blacked out because one of the regional games being played right now is Giants/Phillies.Comment

MLB Off-Topic
Same happens to me when the Orioles and Nats play on there, I assumed because the games are airing nationally it wouldn't be a problem. Sometimes MLB Tonight will say it's blacked out and I never know if a game is in extras, if they're showing Nats or O's highlights Im not supposed to see, no idea. It's just annoying.
Only a few games are aired with exclusive national rights. If you live in a market where the game can be seen on a local channel (regardless of if your carrier or package carries it) it will be blacked out.
Edit: and I agree that it can be quite annoying.Last edited by kehlis; 08-04-2016, 02:22 PM.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Gotcha. They don't mention that on DirecTV, and that's strange because when DirecTV tries to find a program in my region and can't find the Giants game, then it must not be looking for it in the first place.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Honestly the only reason I knew was because I was at lunch and some Philly fans came in wanting to find the game and it was blacked out here as well on MLB network and I had to help the girl find the S.F. CSN feed.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Went to a Winston-Salem Dash game (CHW single-A affiliate) tonight. The groundskeeper hooked me up with 4 tickets in club-level seating, all-you-can-eat buffet and VIP parking.
First time I've been to the new stadium the city built back in 2010 and I really like how the park is laid out. The RF fence is one of the little "nook and crannies" that I love about MiLB stadiums that I wish newer MLB parks would employ.
Anyways, I think that the time between innings can be vastly sped up. It was around 3-4 minutes that could be condensed down to where the SP gets 5 warm-up pitches and instead of the IFs lolly gagging throws to the 1B, actually try to get their throws in.Last edited by Speedy; 08-04-2016, 10:04 PM.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

In fact, the last game I went to the pitcher had batted and lollygagged getting out to the mound and had only thrown 1 pitch when the 2 minutes was up...the ump told him too bad and wouldn't let him finish.
