          Oh boy San Diego....

The San Diego Padres may be in some hot water after two of their recent trades with the Boston Red Sox and Miami Marlins are being called into question.

According to league sources of ESPN's Buster Olney, Major League Baseball is reviewing trades by San Diego involving All-Star left-hander Drew Pomeranz and the Red Sox, as well as right-hander Colin Rea and the Marlins over whether or not the Padres provided all relevant medical information before the deals were completed.

The Red Sox have reportedly become aware of medical information surrounding Pomeranz, who was shipped to Boston on July 14 for prized pitching prospect Anderson Espinoza, that was not disclosed during trade discussions.

Since coming to the Red Sox, Pomeranz has struggled to a 6.20 ERA, while allowing 12 walks in 20 1/3 innings across four starts.

As for Rea, the 26-year-old was returned back to the Padres after experiencing elbow trouble, which caused him to exit his first start with the Marlins after just four innings.

Rea supposedly informed the Marlins - who sources say were not informed of any prior issues with the pitcher - he had the elbow discomfort, and was even treated for it, while he was still a member of the Padres.

Olney writes it's unclear if the Padres will face any "specific penalties or reprimand" if they purposely involved themselves in the wrongdoings.

I have to say...it has been SO long since San Diego has had competent baseball people in the front office. If these trades get reversed/nullified over this, yikes.

this is so stupid. There is nothing wrong with Pomeranz he's never pitched this many innings and is getting lit up in the AL East now that he's out of pitcher friendly petco. Look at his career numbers and he's reverting back to his baseline. Also, this article doesn't mention Chris Paddack getting injured, you don't see us bitching to the Marlins.

Neither of these guys missed a start for us and both took the mound every 5 days.

Well if he wasn't injured before you got him then there wouldn't be any reason to lol

Joe Ross is having some shoulder issues with the Nationals. Maybe blame the Padres for that too.

Because they think information was withheld and he was actually injured when he was in San Diego, which apparently he told them he had gotten treatment for it there and the Marlins were never told.

After reading this article, I hear that Michael Lewis is working on a sequel to Moneyball. It's tentatively titled Surveillanceball: Exploiting the Market Inefficiencies in Privacy.

Rays are looking for compensation for Lucius Fox. He is playing with a bruised foot that wasn't disclosed by the Giants and the injury may cause him to miss the rest of the season.

Is putting a camera in a cardboard box in a common area ever the right thing to do? That's not lack of judgement, it's stupidity and creepy AF. :
