It'll be good to get A-Rod out of the game as a player. Like Bonds, he's probably a HOFer w/ out roids, but he ruined his reputation by himself. He'll be a pretty good advisor or whatever, but it's time for him to say goodbye to baseball as a player

The thing that makes me cringe the most, is when people proclaim Hank Aaron to be the true home run king, because he was clean.

But, the man admitted to using greenies lol.

Part of A-Rod's regimen was a gummy that he would take before games for extra energy so he basically took greenies too.

Greenies are vastly different from energy chews. Darryl Strawberry said the baseball looked huge when he was on them. And just like steroids you feel energized, and locked in, with quick reaction times.

I'm sure the gummies A-Rod was taking did much more than give an energy boost, that's just the part I remember reading about them, all of this crap came from the Biogenesis guy.

Regardless, A-Rod is a perfect storm of cheating, then doing way too much to cover it up, then throwing any and everyone under the bus to save yourself, then finally just taking a suspension and moving on. I honestly feel like doing steroids may be the 5th worst thing he's done lol, it's just absurd. I just went to his wikipedia page and refreshed my memory on all the BS he started spewing when he got caught the first time. I wonder how long it took him to come up with that story.

Either way, as far as I can find, Aaron admitted to taking greenies once and said they made him feel sick...Is he lying? Probably, maybe, who knows? He didn't play so long ago that it's out of the question there were some type of roids back then either. But A-Rod...if Bud Selig wasn't such a scrub, they probably could've made a decent case to have A-Rod banned for life. Unfortunately most of the evidence they collected was done in very shady ways and Selig is a shady commissioner all around, but it's almost not even about the steroids with A-Rod to a point.

Hopefully one day all of this will have faded away and this will be all that's left:

No, that's how I feel too, it's just all the lying he did, all the nonsense he put the Yankees organization through.

Had he just shutup taken his punishment, and moved on, I really think people would have been more forgiven.

I've heard nothing but good things about him in the Yankees clubhouse as of late, and he's always the first one to congratulate a teammate, he seems to be a positive energy now.

And, I don't think he would have been offered any kind of position, had he not cleaned up his act.

But there was a time, that I really wondered if he was a certified dbag like Canseco, or there was really something mentally unstable with him, which I still believe to be the case. He certainly is a pathological liar

man I guess i see it different. Bonds was the GOAT and I see Arod as one of the best non bonds players of all time no asterisk for me.

A-Rod isn't that regardless of steroids. He's not better than Ruth, Mays, Ted Williams, he's not top 10. My top 5 is Ruth, Ted Williams, Barry Bonds, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron. I don't take much away from guys that did roids, it makes no difference to me. My beef with A-Rod is mostly personal as a Yankee fan and a baseball fan growing up at the time when he was The Chosen One, but he was a great player and an all timer. He's not number 2 all time though. Not close to me. Had he played his whole career as a Yankee, he'd still be 3rd just for our franchise IMO (behind Ruth and Gerhig).

No asterisk for me either, but it just sucks how he will ultimately be percieved by the masses.

A good villian you love to hate is always a good thing when it comes to entertainment, and sports are no different. A-Rod was a central piece in helping bring back the NY/Boston rivalry. Will forever have many fond memories thanks to him.

Still remember when he got plunked by Dempster, and then turned around and hit a blast off him, I love rewatching that moment.

No, not at all, I'm just saying there's this amazing double standard when it comes to Arod, Bonds, Clemens etc..

I never really liked A-Rod too much (never truly hated him either in the typical way I'm known to hate players) but he's done wonders in the last year or two to rehabilitate my opinion of him. He's been nothing short of awesome and eloquent. And I absolutely loved him on the playoff broadcasts last year. True insight and analysis. I really hope he transitions to TV in due time.

As a career, he's got no "asterisks" for me nor should he. One of the best players anyone has ever seen.

Wasn't Hart working on MLB Network while running the Rangers or someone?
