          ^ Watching. I love it.

As far as the sculpture, I don't know if not having anything there is better than having that there because LCF is so barren at that park. I hope they find another use for that area of the park, even if it's additional seating.

I was looking for a thread.

Wanted to say, as bad as MLB umpires seem to be, there is a reason those guys get there.

The LL umps are awful. Seems like they miss a call multiple times an at bat.

I've seen 22 inch wide strike zones, catchers interference when nothing happened, called foul balls on clear in play grounders. It's bad.

              Absolutely.

Some of the best baseball you'll watch.

                Well...it is LL.

When I was a kid, we'd play a team in another city. We all hated going there because...everytime...the umps would be parents of our opponents.

I'm surprised they have video review this year. Doesn't seem to be much if a difference in most things reviewed. Either way, it's enjoyable. I love the pace of play.

They could use video cause the Enrico Pallazo clones they have out there leave a lot to be desired.

Zobrist just said after last night's game that they should use technology to call strikes and balls.

Doesn't the top of the strike zone technically end at or just below the letters? I could see players screaming their heads off about the high strike if that happened LOL but at least it'd be consistent. That call last night reminded me of the Frank Drebin umpire sequence in the first Naked Gun.

                        I love LL, definitely.

The umpiring is awful but these kids impress me. They handle it well. It's sad to see when they look defeated though.

I think the letter of the law strike zone is bottom of the armpit to the top of the knee.

Nah it's more like between the belly button and nipple line at the top of the zone

                            Rule 2.00: The Strike Zone
The STRIKE ZONE is that area over home plate the upper limit of which is a horizontal line at the midpoint between the top of the shoulders and the top of the uniform pants, and the lower level is a line at the hollow beneath the kneecap. The Strike Zone shall be determined from the batter's stance as the batter is prepared to swing at a pitched ball.

Height of strike zone could be subjective, but the plate part should be automatic. There's no open to interpretation about it. Doesn't matter if a guy is Altuve or Trout, it's same length across the plate.

If they ever do go the robot ump way, at least start off with inside /outside pitches being determined that way while the ump decides if its too high or low.
