Taking my wife to work this morning I saw the Brock statue and the the stadium. Her garage is at this intersection.

Major League Baseball and the Players Association reached agreement late last night on a plan for the 2020 postseason, including neutral-site bubbles for the Division Series, League Championship Series and World Series, sources tell The Athletic. Announcement expected today.

So, Kris Bryant basically can't play baseball anymore...he's forgotten how, I guess.

Coached himself out of greatness after 2016...changed his swing to lower his launch angle...Cubs moved him to the #2 spot, and he was up with the bases empty A TON, like 80% of HRs were solo shots. Easy to pitch around a guy like him with no one on base.

A spoiled kid unaccustomed to adversity...with a long swing...that he changed after an MVP Season...managed by a guy that refused to acknowledge his plan wasn't successful.

Seriously...take a look at 2017 and 18...yes, KB raked at times...but look at how many HRs were solo shots...the batters in front of him were The 8, 9, and Leadoff guys...and none of their leadoff hitters succeeded.

The opposing managers/pitchers had to love it.

Managers are too cute, and ignore some common sense wisdom...not everyone can hit as well with no one on...that's why your 1 and 2 guys need discipline, plate coverage, and frequent contact...KB only has 1 of those, sorta.

It's as bad as watching game/clock management in the NFL...so many coaches seem clueless.

                            Rays clinch the AL East.

This now means every team in the AL East has won the division since 2014.

                            That's 5 teams in a 7 year span!

Red Sox are the only team in the ALE who hasn't both won a division and gotten a WC spot in that timespan. Funny enough, they're the only one of the ALE teams to win a WS in that span.

Bryant (and the rest of the Cubs bats this year) have certainly been underwhelming (flat out terrible may be a better description), but I am not going to overreact to an injury plagued 140 plate appearances, especially with how weird this season has been. He has certainly looked awful all year but I don't think it's anything to worry about going into next year--he is far from the only All-star caliber player to never find his swing this year

As far as how Maddon utilized him 2017 onward, I think there may be some merit to that...but I think it had more to do with the Cubs lack of production from the leadoff spot. If your leadoff man isn't getting on base then your #3 hitter basically becomes your #2 hitter and you have one less out to work with...so why not just move your best hitter up in the lineup to get more PA's?

Any ideas who's winning awards this year? Some are tougher to judge based on shorter season.

Manager of the year was one I heard discussed. Obviously you cant be like "___ won 15 more games this year and made the playoffs". So you have to use win%.

Jays at .526 right now (.534 after tonight), up from .414.
White Sox at .596, were .447 last year.

So Renteria I'd say is the fave in the AL, Montoyo 2nd.

The Padres manager Tingler I think for sure is winning in NL, no question.
