After being the first (and only, so far) MLB player to kneel for the anthem, and after an incident this week where he claimed he was denied service at a restaurant for said protest, Bruce Maxwell's roller coaster of emotion continues.

Last night, he was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after pointing a gun at a female food delivery driver.

His restaurant story was fabricated from new reports out there.

See, I'll sympathize for these guys if they have legitimate reason, but we can't just call a spade a spade here. Not to mention he simply perpetuates the cycle with his actions. No sympathy for liars.

He was probably so ****faced that he thought he was being denied service, but he was actually in a ball pit at Chuck-E-Cheese pointing a handgun at a little kid or something.

They're definitely trying to cash in on the moolah now with the Blue Jays brand being white hot in the market. Seeing how much MLSE got for the ACC naming rights it would be disappointing if the Jays got anything less.

That was Rogers' mistake in the first place, it should've been Rogers Skydome although I believe the Skydome name is owned by another entity? I know that Pat Gillick had a stake in the ownership of the group that handled the stadium before Rogers bought it out.

Not sure about that, but even just something like Rogers Dome would've been nice compromise if that is the case.

Don't see them topping the ACC deal, but no doubt they'll get alot for this. They own the team and have every game on their network, no need to have naming rights to stadium when they digitally add their ads on field already and Rogers stuff is everywhere. Easily 10m+ a year to be had letting someone else get naming rights.

I find it interesting...a year ago at this time people were talking about a Cubs dynasty; today I can't even find them in the top 5 of Vegas odds to win the WS next year. Crazy how fast perceptions change in pro sports.

Really? I chalk that up to stupid betters and odds makers. If I were inclined I'd put some money on the Cubbies winning it all next year. As it stands right now they're still a top 5 contender in my books.

I think Russell's and Schwarber's regression, the continued ineptness of Heyward, the likelihood of losing Arrieta and Lester's bad year all makes it pretty reasonable to keep them out of the top 5.

The Cubs' pitching staff got old, it seems like, and Schwarber, Russell, and Baez are looking more like question marks than the franchise cornerstones people thought they were.

The core of a really good, 90+ win team is still there though.

It's funny how all these "built to last!" teams seemingly end up not quite lasting as long as we expect.

We'll see if the Cubs can make the necessary adjustments.
