    Incredible.

Stuff like that is evidence enough that some people are freaks of nature. Maybe most professional athletes.

The rest of us can grind all day but we couldn't get our off arm to throw 100.

Blue Jays pitcher Joe Biagini back at it. Asking the question literally nobody else would think to ask. It makes you think. It's a long interview, and there's good stuff before too, but the 5:15 mark is the one relating to my post.

Him as a reliever is fine, just shouldn't make him a starter if they don't need to.

To be fair, I taught myself to throw left handed in my early 20's, mainly as a joke and after only a couple of years it was probably 80% as good as my right, so anyone who did it from an early age should really be able to do it pretty well. It's really not as hard as you think once you think about the mechanics and get the hang of it, then your body naturally just adjusts. There are so many switch hitters or righties who bat lefty, it's really not that different imo.

Then it just comes down to being the kind of freak who can throw 100mph!

I'll say there's a big difference in this aspect, because both hands hold the bat. That being said, I've been a switch-hitter since I was 12, and even though I'm likely a better hitter left-handed now, I can't hit a fungo lefty to save my life.

Last summer I was initiating a project to start to learn to throw lefty when my right shoulder was bothering me, but I was borrowing my player's terrible glove and I was honestly catching even worse than I was throwing. I'd like to be able to throw both ways though, for sure! Would just be a nice skill to say that you can do.

That's pretty much why I did it. I was put in charge of teaching people how to throw for my team (mainly girls and kids) and it made me think about the mechanics of throwing as I've always naturally found it very easy, so to teach someone who's body doesn't naturally do it meant learning what it was I was doing. So I decided to teach myself lefty, as I had all the spazy problems throwing lefty that the naturally poor throwers were having righty. Plus I figured it would be a decent party trick and make playing catch a bit more fun.

It really wasn't that difficult tbh, the footwork was the bit I struggled the most with, but ask me to hit lefty and I'd be all over the place! It's all about training that muscle memory, once you've got the basic technique sorted in you mind.

Right, I was in the exact same mindset as you. Trying to teach people throw with their naturally strong hand and all of the mechanics involved is so easy to talk about when you can do it, but then you switch hands and try to throw with the other arm and you realize that it's much easier said than done. Arm strength has little to do with the mechanics at that point, so it's all about that muscle memory.

I'm sure I'll start that back up again someday.

Okay, I was semi-forgiving with the Matt Harvey one that people couldn't recognize him, though given you are a Harvey fan in New York I think the name alone would bring enough power of suggestion for you to see him as he's interviewing you...

But this is just way too obvious. How can you not know that person right in front of you is Aaron Judge? His face, stature, haircut, complexion, voice... hell even his teeth would give that away. This man is possibly the largest face of baseball's youth and is on the biggest stage. These Yankees fans should be ashamed. And it's not even like they are getting peery-eyed trying to figure out if it's him or not either, they are just completely oblivious to the fact.

I'm starting to now believe in Superman's "Clark Kent" disguise actually working on fools lol.

Glasses make the biggest difference lol. Look at Superman/Clark Kent(I don't care if it's not real). Although apparently for a movie, the guy playing Superman walked through Times Square(with Superman poster displayed there too) and people didn't recognize him.

I'm sure at some point in many peoples lives, they've passed right by an A/B/C list celebrity and didn't even realize it (either because they didn't recognize them, or just didn't even know who they were to begin with)

Too bad MLB isn't like the other sports where the draft picks will be in the league right away, and draft round/overall makes a huge difference.
