I think pricing is a big piece of it. I'd go more if it weren't so expensive for just TWO people.

    Side point...

It's dumb they won't show replays at the game except on reviews. We're in 2018, MGRs challenge a call based on their video assistant in the clubhouse so what difference does showing replays to fans hurt? Also, I'd actually like to see a k-zone displayed at the park too to help the fans (and maybe even these idiot umps like CB and Joe West).
Well yeah, if you want to sit field level it's gonna be expensive. You can find tickets a lot cheaper than $125 at nearly every park.

Yeah the games I go to, I never pay more than 60. First game I ever went to my tickets were 15.

Giants tickets used to be much cheaper. I'm going to their game against the Marlins on Wednesday afternoon though and four of us are getting upper deck tickets behind home plate at about $40 each. Not the worst, and I love the seats all the same.

The problem is that we got these through StubHub, which are already cheaper than the actual tickets there, but they add $12.50 worth of hidden fees to each ticket. Thankfully they are now facing a class action lawsuit over such hidden fees. Hopefully I get into that settlement a little bit.

I always hear people quote how expensive games are, and no doubt they can be, but when I lived in San Diego I used to go to Padres games all the time for cheap. I had season tickets one year (it was just over $1,000 for two seats down the 3rd base line) and in the other seasons I would just pick them up online the day of and usually paid anywhere from $10-$35 to sit in pretty good seats (and taking the family I could get bleacher seats for $5/each).

Bottom line...a game doesn't have to cost $200.

I've never paid more than $25 for a ticket to a Rockies game. And I'm sitting in the 100 or 200 level.

Granted, I haven't been to a game yet this year and I know they raised prices after making the WC game last year.

I don't disagree with that, I have gone to a lot of Padres games on the cheap myself. The last couple of weeks I was at SDSU, my roommate and I went and bought first row seats next to the dugout for $65 apiece. I mean it was seriously nothing!

Was it you who was at that game as well, in the third deck above me? I got a foul ball that game and I think we talked about it afterward haha. They were playing the Braves that game, if that rings a bell (it was 2011). I remember there was an OS member that was also there, may have been you.

And the game that we went to, I mean those season tix seats are probably normally what, less than $50 right? Very, very affordable. The park-in-the-park standing room used to be $5, and it was just the steal of the century.

I'm not complaining about most MLB stadiums, I'm complaining about the Giants only haha. Their RF bleacher seats (my favorite ones there) used to be $16 when the park opened. Now they are $72. I mean seriously? That's a 450% increase for a .500 team, and they were probably even more last year when they were really blowing it. I'm talking about the same game that I'm going to that's just against the Marlins. Hardly a rival, I'd say.

Yup...I remember that game where you got the foul ball. I remember the Padres/Cubs game we went to where the Cubs won 1-0 and really dented the Padres playoff hopes (the Giants ended them that weekend in SF).

Can't get that kind of ball anymore with the protective netting in the way.

Yeah, I remember that Padres game was one of those 3:05 starts and was a weird kind of weather, I can't remember exactly what it was but it surely was strange. But yeah, like the Padres games are really affordable and I wish more people went to watch them play for sure.

I remember the weather being cooler/wet...which never happens in Padres day games. It felt like they were playing in Chicago, not San Diego!

Stubhub is definitely not cheaper since it's being sold through a third party.

You may want to see if you can cancel anyway though because I just went and checked the Giants site and there are available seats in the upper deck right behind home plate for $30.

It can be cheaper. Sometimes people sell their tickets at a loss.

Perhaps getting a ticket the day-of is cheaper but I live in a different state...I have to plan my dates in advance due to travel time. Even a seat in the outfield is $30/each.

Understood, but in this case it isn't, you can go to their site and fact check if you'd like. They bought from some who didn't choose to sell at a loss.

I get that...makes sense. I think living in an MLB city makes a big difference for sure. I know last year I was planning a trip to Sun Trust Park and was looking at $15/ticket, which I didn't think was awful, but I imagine tickets are more expensive with the team doing better this year.

Sorry, I should clarify that the seats are second row in the upper deck, and they are still $55 I believe.
