I know of a certain fan of a certain NL East team that will enjoy the Nats schadenfreude in this Deadspin article...

Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan Wolverines

The Astros better hope pictures/video don't exist. Jeff Passan wrote an article where he absolutely SKEWERED Luhnow and wrote something about how some of the police saw photos of the GF and how it was some of the most disturbing they've seen in a while. Passan is a guy who has sources and doesn't usually pull things out of his butt. If it's as bad as all that the Astros will have to dump Osuna and his career...Well it may be over.

Onto other things, looks like Sonny Gray is getting the Twitter treatment right now. An old tweet of his belittling some guy for not having gone to college and they're black has surfaced.

Nothing resolved today on Osuna case. Next hearing is September 5th(a month after his suspension in MLB is over). So he'll be playing all of August with this stuff not resolved.

His lawyer said he had "productive meetings" (in court).

On the radio the first headline I heard is "Could charges against Roberto Osuna be dropped?", wording it as if there's a new development in this story. Clearly something did happen if MLB had enough evidence to suspend him 75 days. Severity of what happened is yet to be seen/heard, but it's not like he's 100% innocent unless somehow MLB doesn't know what they're doing which I doubt.

Unfortunately you have so many people who jump to their own conclusions that they'll suddenly be like "Jays traded Osuna even though the charges will be dropped!". I heard people ripping getting Giles, not because of anything that happened a few weeks ago, but because all they hear is "Blue Jays acquire Ken Giles who has a 4.99ERA this year, along with 2 minor leaguers", and act like they got a horrible reliever and 2 throw ins that won't make it to the big leagues.

Don't think the charges will be dropped per se. I have a feeling Osuna's lawyer is going to work out a plea deal. The thing about this is, the nature of the crime he's charged with has huge implications for him in terms of travel. He may face some travel restrictions no matter what. Until this is resolved there's going to be a huge cloud over Osuna and the Astros now.

As for some Jays fans, the people making those claims are idiots. One of those two minor leaguers is a legit prospect and Giles may turn things around with a change of scenery to stick around here or be flipped for more futures.

That's the problem with casuals. They exist in every market, but those ridiculous types of comments are the ones the media picks out when referencing on TV or in an article in order to catch peoples attention.

What will get your attention more? Hearing comments being like "Solid trade. Lets see what happens in the future", or "They suck! Stupid management is dealing away a good young player for a guy who sucks and got sent to AAA, and 2 minor leaguers".

I haven't heard a single notable person in the media saying it's a bad deal for the Jays, but I've seen tweets pop up on TV bashing it. If anything, despite Giles being a top 5 closer in the AL last year, Perez is the guy I've heard the most praise about.

Management has done a great job the past month+. Of the Jays top 30 prospects, 5 of them have been acquired in the past month. And who knows where the 2018 draft picks might rank in this top 30 as well. Atkins even said he thinks Jays might be in the top quarter(or better) of the league in terms of prospect depth, which is borderline top 5. At the start of the year, MLB.com ranked Jays 9th. After deadline, B/R ranks them 3rd(1st in AL)

Shame the Jays won't just cut bait on their **** catchers now and call my boy up.

Ah well, I'm sure he'll be up in September for a trial.

He'll be their starting catcher next year for sure. Not much long to wait. If you believe what some people are saying here in the media the Jays in 2019 are going to be a VERY young team.

He didn't look right all year so i'm not surprised.

I only say that for personal reasons, as I used to babysit Danny. He's having a pretty decent year in AAA though, and Martin/Maile aren't really doing anything (or actively bad, in Martin's case.)

Oh I know you don't care bout the Jays just giving a timeline for you.

Luhnow has stated that the Astros due diligence was "unprecedented" while also not trying to spin that Osuna is innocent.

With Luhnow's track record in Houston, I'm going to trust his decision by default at this point. I may not be particularly happy with the decision but I trust Luhnow that this won't go horribly wrong.

Hopefully so. Last time Jays had an average age of 27.5 or younger among their batters was 2002.

For reference, Rays, Red Sox and Yankees all have an average batters age of 27.5 or younger THIS SEASON.
