Hey **** that. If I get the chance to get a ball after all the damn baseball games I've been to, I'm keeping it.

Why should I automatically have to give a ball, something *I've* wanted since *I* was a kid, to someone just because I'm now deemed "too old" to be able to keep it? Baseball is about feeling like a kid whether you are one or not.

Nah, that's one of the biggest bull**** things ever.

And maybe, just maybe, one of these days "the Internet" will learn about jumping to conclusions about people and a story before they make fools of themselves. Not holding my breath on that though.

Seeing this guy's channel might change your mind about not wanting to bringing your mitt to a game. I've even subscribed to him.

He's snagged over 10,000 baseballs during his streak of games receiving a ball of some kind (thrown, hit, BP, whatever). He has caught some first career home runs, milestone home runs, you name it. I believe he also played catch with Tim Lincecum from the stands, which was pretty funny to watch.

He stops at nothing to get them and his videos are actually pretty entertaining. I couldn't muster up to do what he does because it seems a bit too overzealous, but props to those who do it man.

Another one of those surprising facts.

Red Sox are 40 games over 500 for first time since September 1949! They've never finished with 100+ wins in that span, and only have 3 seasons in their history with 100 wins. They're currently on pace to get 8 more wins than any other season in franchise history.

Moral of the story: If you look over 18, just give the ball to a kid immediately.

Yeah, I never caught a baseball as a kid and nobody ever threw me one either. Not for lack of trying. I would say that if the baseball comes right to you, it's ok to keep it no matter what age you are (I actually got hit by a Brandon Inge foul ball in a Tigers-Twins game about a decade ago and kept it...I tried to catch it but too much backspin and too few skills...some kid's dad came up to me a few innings later and didn't change my mind, lol). If you are competing with a bunch of kids to get to the ball or impeding them from it, then it's a different story. That would be pretty bad.

I don't understand the fascination with catching a foul ball. A homerun I can understand, and I'd probably keep it unless I'm at Wrigley and the visiting team hit it. But a foul ball I'm definitely giving to a kid if they want it.

I can think of 8-11 different things to add to good ol' #25 who played for the San Francisco Giants... and the Pirates are visiting very soon I believe.

My dude, it's not August 11th yet.

I will, however, mention that Barry Bonds (the same one getting the honor of having his number retired on August 11th before a game between his two former teams, the San Francisco Giants and the Pittsburgh Pirates) is the only member of the 500 HR/500 SB club, as well as the 400/400 club.
