        Didn't see him much since he was a west coast guy but when he came to Shea in the early 70's, he was enormous........RIP

            How fitting that many around the country sport the orange and black colors on the day of his passing.

            I know him more as a statue and a name for a cove, but he was always supportive of the modern Giant bunch and came out to the ballpark often despite needing to be toted everywhere in a wheelchair. He and Mays being there for Barry Bonds' jersey retirement on August 11th against the Pirates was a firm reminder of the days of yore that put SFG on the map to begin with, as his first year was also the first year they came to San Francisco.

            It was heartwrenching to hear this news, but he will continue to be graced by the faithful at AT&T Park and will truly never be forgotten. R.I.P.

                Truly a great player by all accounts. In some respects he was overshadowed by Willie Mays but McCovey was just as big of a superstar and vital part of the Giants in their early years in San Fran.

                    @kehlis:

                    What I had posted here couldn't have already been posted & discussed regardless of which thread because the material/links had just been posted on MLB.com when I posted it here.

                    Anyhow, I feel like what I posted could have fit in either this Off-Topic thread or Hot Stove thread so I will post stuff pertaining to the offseason in the Hot Stove thread from now on. Thanks.

                          Ah I see they went with the worse of the logo options.

                              The colour scheme actually looks like it could be good.

                              Sure, it doesn't say much, but going from

                              to

                              is a big improvement

                              I know I say this alot, but when are Brewers gonna finally change theirs? They're already using that logo as an alternate, just make it a primary already.

                              And on the topic of logo changes, any others expected to change this year? I know Cleveland is moving on from theirs (which had been reduced to an alternate the past few years), but I don't believe they're getting a new primary(maybe just a new alternate?).

                                More to it than that. They want to get rid of the waiver trade time period and just move to one hard trade deadline date.

                                I'm all for it but would rather see it kept at the current date. Just get rid of waiver trades all together.
