Come on, they really gave Martinez two silver sluggers? This is Palmeiro gold glove territory.

In order to win both, he clearly didn't play a lot of games at one or both positions. Someone else should have earned the OF spot.

Did they ever figure out why Halladay crashed?

Think the autopsy discovered traces of morphine in his system. Not saying that's why he crashed but, yeah, I'm sure it didn't help.

A combination of Amphetamines and "stunt" flying when that particular plane model was very new to him was the cause. There was also a social media/youtube video done by like 5-6 guys who motorboated to the crash site and were too busy immortalizing their discovery for the internet rather than saving Halladay's life as apparently he was still alive when they were cavorting around.

I know I'm a bad person for taking this out of a serious context, but...heh.

The Marlins are going to have a blue jersey with their new uniforms.

The shade of blue looks almost neon and conjures up the idea of aqua/water. Hopefully the rest of it will look very nice.

Damn, those are huge buttons on the new Marlins jersey.

Ah, new uniforms. Is that so we'll stop talking about their historically embarrassing attendance numbers, in their 5.5 year old stadium?

Not really, they're standard size. It's just the extreme closeup view that makes it looks so monstrous.

As for the logo, the more I look at it the more I think they should have a white panel helmet/hat as it'd make the logo stand out more. It's not gonna happen but it's an idea for an alternate at least.

Didn't even realize the Mariners dropped Safeco as the naming right to the stadium.

As far as "product name" stadium/field names go Safeco was one of the best mainly because of that sign. It's very iconic to me and it's going to be sad to see it gone.
