I find it funny that Yadier Molina is calling Cubs/players losers when it's the Cardinals who can't seem to make the playoffs anymore. Besides, Kris Bryant ragging on St. Louis is nothing that hasn't already been done by The Best Fans in Baseball ten fold.

I assume this is sarcasm right? Because you know team wins and losses had nothing to do with his comment.

This stuff makes me like baseball less. It's criminal how minor leaguers are treated

Can't the minor leaguers file a class action law suit? This seems like it infringes upon civil rights here. This stuff makes me like baseball less. It's criminal how minor leaguers are treated

Re: MLB Off-Topic
That's why I mentioned earlier that the MLBPA should engraft the MiLB players as a subsidiary PA or something and give a % of their collectively bargained revenue, even if it's just 1%.

Re: MLB Off-Topic
From the linked story:
Broshuis is seeking class action status in a lawsuit against Major League Baseball in Florida and Arizona, the league’s two homes for spring training. Arizona is home to the Cactus League, the spring training league for the Angels, Diamondbacks, Cubs, Reds, Indians, Rockies, White Sox, Royals, Dodgers, Brewers, Athletics, Padres, Giants, Mariners, and Rangers. A federal judge denied Broshuis’s request but he appealed and is waiting on a ruling.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
But that would mean 1% less for them.
Plus the fact that I'm quite confident that organizing MiLB players would be no picnic. I doubt the MLBPA has the stomach or the desire to take that on.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
My uninformed opinion is it won't ever happen.
Way too many people that will take those minor league paychecks to play professional baseball. Scabs would line up the second those MiLB players go on strike.
Also any union likely means goodbye to major bonuses as I predict the league would turn to other potential players (say from independent leagues or undrafted college players) that will take the higher agreed to guaranteed money over any bonus.
You take such an unpredictable sport where you might find someone playing in a farm league right now that could potentially be an all time great and the amount of wasted dollars on failed draft picks, and I think the league wins in the long run.
The owners don't push for it because they don't need to. But if it became a real negotiation, I think the owners let it happen knowing they'll manipulate the market anyway.

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Those jerseys are going to be worn at one point in the season. Mark my words.
Anyways on a sad note, R.I.P. to former umpire Jim McKean. An umpire who was an athlete back in the day as he won a Grey Cup as a player in the CFL. His career was cut short due to injury. He had the record of being involved in the most no-hitters until it was broken in 2010 IIRC. On a note of civic pride McKean was a Canadian born ump.
