ESPN is garbage...not enough competition from other networks (a la EASports)...and too much politicizing and emotional-cultural shenanigans.

They are less concerned about actually covering sports/athletes than creating headlines with allegation and insinuation.

I'll agree with the first part but um, I hate to break it to you, but a lot of the political/social commentary (and even then it was under the rubric of commentary/editorial which is far different than news and game commentary) which was completely blown out of proportions. Even so, they've pretty much stopped doing that since current president Jimmy Pittaro took over in March of last year.

Your talking point in that area is as stale as moldy bread.

BTW - I just caught up on Dan Shaughnessy's argument for why he doesn't think Schilling is in the HOF; he pointed out that Catfish Hunter isn't in the HOF, so Schilling shouldn't be in based on his post-season record. Uhm...last I checked, Catfish is very much a Hall of Famer. The very fact that a voter for the HOF doesn't even know who is in the HOF is ridiculous.

              re: that Padres uniform

Hmm, I want to like it but something seems off. I like the colors individually and the pinstripes individually and 1980s Padres unis are great, but something with the pinstripes in the mix with everything else makes me uneasy.

If there was video of him making that argument I bet he sounded like his word was law and then some guy in the back rushes up to him and whispers the fact that Catfish is in the HOF....Danny boy, shrinks 2 sizes and walks out of the room screaming "And that's the bottom line cuz Shaughnessy says so!"

Is that first jersey supposed to be white or cream? The colors in the picture and the mock up are very different to me.

I want to believe that Gary Sanchez has been secretly, intensely working with the Molina brothers on fielding. I want to believe!

Same goes with Andujar and, I don't know, Robin Ventura? Scott Rolen?

Wade Boggs was a terrible 3B early in his career. Anyone can improve if they work hard enough.

Imagine being upset because of a uniform worn by a minor league team.

The Minors, where stuff 10000000x worse gets worn every day.

I hope they go all red every now and then.

So the Marlins may have teal pants that can be worn with their alternate.

I hope they go all teal most of the time. It's the closest thing to going back to all powder blue.
