Kapler responded if anyone didn't see it:

I'm not Gabe Kapler's biggest booster, but I think extortion by the girl and her grandmother involved seems like the closest thing to what happened here. I don't see any part of this being Gabe Kapler's fault.

Hopefully the girl involved, who is 20 or so now, learned about drinking responsibly, not meeting up with randoms on Facebook, and not exposing yourself to shenanigans arising from your own extremely poor judgment.

I think that once Kapler learns that the victim is underage... even if it's by a day ... the wish of the grandmother is out of his and the LAD organization's hands. You're dealing with a minor, legally. You don't play around with that and you report. The grandmother's feelings and wishes as well as the victim's are of no consequence at that point.

Well i'm glad to see that this was much ado about nothing. I may not like Kapler and think he's a very strange dude I would hope he isn't a monster.

On a far lighter note, he still has his site there hmmm, too bad he can't reactivate it as a daily blog chronicling his managerial run in Philly. Of course, with as open as Kap is and the kind of things he'd likely say if he were being 100% open and unfiltered THAT would likely cost him his job but it'd be damn fun reading.

Ya, I have a hard time cooking with coconut oil.... I really have to stay focused on the task at hand!

Alternately, checking the archived blogs, I do think he wants to take down the one starting out like this:

"In this post, I'll be sharing why whiskey, weight training, muscle building and fat burning can harmoniously exist. I'll also be breaking down why more expensive doesn't necessarily mean tastier when it comes to liquor....."

            Yikes.

Probably along the lines of how on air personnel have been frustrated by not being able to speak out on more substantive issues. That's just a wild guess on my part but it was one of the things that kept leaking out and embarrassing the network.

If i'm MLB-N I snatch this guy up IMMEDIATELY. I do wonder though, if maybe he'll take a break from the heat of American sportscasting and come back home to Canada for a couple years.

Watched the 30-for-30 about Deion and playing playoff baseball and a regular season football game the same day.

I get to an extent why people was upset. In hindsight, Deion was incredibly athletic and was exceptional in 1992 (look at his WS stats) but at the time, Atlanta is trying to win a pennant with a player that is less than 100% (even if an 80% Deion was still good).

That said...I do respect Deion. Dude went thru a lot and was scorned. The beef with McCarver and the rest of the media...I dont blame him a bit for throwing ice water on McCarver, given his character was being tarnished. One thing about Deion is that he's going to be honest/real and doesn't care what anybody thinks about it.

In today's society...I dont forsee Kyler Murray going thru nearly the same scrutiny should he try what Deion did. I definitely would support him if he can perform as well as Deion did.

Worst scenario Adnan winds up back in Canada. He's been a guest on a national sports talk show here a bunch of times because of his history on the old TheScore network.

Raiders are all but moved to the Giants stadium. Can the As and Rays get this stuff resolved already?

MLB.com currently has every teams top bWAR player up and it's thrown up the hilariously depressing fact that Kevin Kiermaier is apparently the 4th best Ray ever. The man has a .733 career ops
