so I know most people would like to keep most technology out of the game but I'd be for letting the catcher wear a blue-tooth, and earpieces only for pitchers. No more signals to steal

oh, nobody on the actual team had anything to do with it. it was a couple stadium hotdog vendors and some batboys running the whole operation.

Wouldn't the batter hear what the catcher is saying to the pitcher?

And not just that, any signal like that is incredibly easy to intercept. They could do like QB's when changing the play call but that just seems like we would be going to far.

It sucks that we're at this point but it's just going to come down to over complicating the signs.

This is correct. Everything is on a 10 second delay. The Astros found a way around this by using ear pieces and to communicate from the bullpen catcher to the guy sitting in the tunnel, who would relay it to the players in the dugout.

MLB.com named the 2018 Red Sox as the best team of the decade.

“The 2018 Red Sox were so dominant you barely even noticed how dominant they were. They breezed through the American League East — flying past a 100-win Yankees team like it was nothing — and then floored it through the postseason, losing only three games in blasting past the Yankees, Astros and Dodgers on their way to a World Series championship. The Red Sox’s 108 wins were the most since the Mariners won 116 games in 2001, but Boston finished it off with a title. This is probably the greatest Red Sox team of all time … and we shouldn’t let what happened the next season make us lose sight of that.”

Not trying to stir the pot, but i see the consensus among non-brewer fans accusing Yelich and Milwaukee of sign-stealing are pointing at is Home vs Road splits, specifically OPS and wRC+, saying his numbers are too much of a coincidence to overlook. So I made a list of everyone in baseball with over 200 PA both at home and on the road, 160 players, and found their differential in home and road OPS and wRC+. The surprising thing, Yelich is not even top 10 in either category.

And just to note, green numbers mean there was a dropoff of road numbers compared to home numbers, red is inverse.

The interesting thing is if Houston was stealing signs at home in 2017, it didn’t help them...their home/road splits show them being better on the road.

I find interesting, sickening, ridiculous and poignant that nobody cares that the Astros took that big fat steamy dump on legitimate competition for years on end and that the sign stealing is considered way more of an affront. Not only that but it their method got and gets CELEBRATED heavily. They were revered and praised. Books were written! This is the new way to build a sports team! All hail! Now they're being criticized by the very same people. Don't you think the level to which they stooped to snoop is directly related to their willingness to do what they already did?

I think the sign stuff is insane. The levels to which they went are....pathological, egregious, and comical. But losing on purpose is way, way, way worse and should be viewed as such.
