Should have just named it Aaron Stadium/Park/Field and been done with it.

They could be all slick like the A's and take money for the stadium but name the actual playing surface after a player. Rickey Henderson Field at RingCentral Stadium. Just rolls off the tongue.

They can name every corner of that structure they want but it will always be the Coliseum over any of them till the day it's torn down.

I don't mind it. I knew it was due to a merger so it wasn't going to be "fresh" named but I thought Delta Park or something Atlanta-based would be cool.

I hate it phrased that way. Cora wasnt looking to get out of the relationship, only Boston wanted out. I suppose if I get fired tomorrow and dont come to work Thursday, I mutually agreed to part ways too lmao I wonder if Cora will mutually agree with Manfred when he suspends him for a year

Red Sox are some cowards for folding under outside pressure.

How about they did the right thing?

You want to go through an entire season with people questioning your every move every single game?

He was likely going to be suspended for the season for his role

I don’t know what outside pressure there was aside from MLB saying he was going to be punished

Red Sox are ultra sensitive to public opinion. The decision to remove Cora as manager comes off as a reaction to the moves made by the Astros yesterday and how they would be perceived for not following suit.

Look, I get why they did it. I just don’t agree it needed to happen. Saints stuck by Peyton during Bounty Gate. Would like to have seen the Red Sox do the same here. I also really liked Cora the person so my view on the matter might be a little clouded.

Or they just figured he’s not worth the headache keeping him would cause after this. They were about to lose him for at least a year anyway. You really think Cora is worth it? If he/Houston didn’t cheat their way to success maybe he never gets the job or even ends up a candidate in the first place. The guy got the job on lies. Why not dodge the bad PR and move on for good rather then wait for him to be able to return sometime in the future? He could even end up getting hit harder then Hinch.

It’s not folding under outside pressure, it’s just smart.
