Next, I would like to see Valencia vs Odor for the title belt.
    That's just interesting.

Quite confrontational of Butler to try and wedge his way in Valencia's personal stuff.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Just started reading The Game, about Selig's tenure as commissioner and the first thing that jumps out to me is they're talking about Steinbrenner being suspended for digging up dirt on Winfield (which apparently the executive council knew about the shady guy he used) and they mention that it wasn't the first time an owner had something like that, as the Yankees once told the Mick if he didn't take a paycut they would tell his wife he was cheating on her. Unreal. I just want to work in a front office and see all of these things go down man, it must be incredible.

Also that the Boss was caught up obstructing justice in Watergate and Reagan pardoned him. I really just want to be a billionaire. Must be nice.

Steinbrenner really was a double edged sword, he did alot of good and bad for the organization.

There's also the whole Griffey situation, that is unfortunate to think about.

Mortgage lender Guaranteed Rate has signed a 13-year naming rights deal with the White Sox. Cellular Field will now be called Guaranteed Rate Field.

I honestly think Manfred needs to step in and stop that from happening. That's an abomination.

And I feel bad for Sox fans. At least when the Jake changed to Progressive Field, Indians fans can just say **** it and call it the Jake anyway. When you go from US Cellular to Guaranteed Rate everyone loses.

I never thought naming rights worked for the buyer anyways. When people here talk about where the Rangers play they either call it Arlington Stadium or The Ballpark in Arlington. Outside of the organization or the media I never hear it called "Globe Life Park". The same is true for Cowboys Stadium.
                    Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

I like how the Chicago Sun-Times put it:

Guaranteed Rate Field? You’re kidding, right?

Was Year End Clearance Stadium already taken?

Going Out of Business Sale Park?

                          Your Name Here Yards?

The only question now is what the ballpark will be called in everyday conversation. If there’s anything we can all agree on – “all’’ meaning everyone not associated with the mortgage company – it’s that the ballpark will not be called Guaranteed Rate Field.

                          The Graft?

                          The Grift?

                          The Garf?

                          The G-Spot?

                          Guaranteed Loss Field?

                          Guaranteed Wait Bathroom Lines?

Padres rookie 2B Ryan Schimpf has 40 hits since being called up to the MLB...30 of them are for extra bases. The man hates singles.

I'm torn on this. With YS, I just maintain that if they ever change the name I'll lose my ****, they just make too much money to sell the naming rights to the stadium, I feel the same about Giants Stadium and MetLife, I just think these corporate names are terrible.

But if Yankee Stadium became Bank of America Field or something lame like that, I don't know how I'd react. If they had changed the name on the old stadium I would've been irate and dead inside. I'm less rigid on the new one. I already saw Yankee Stadium get torn down, so them renaming part 2 wouldnt hurt as much. It's already the House that the Boss Built to me.
