    Official 2004 Pittsburgh Pirates GameLog/Chat

(with a tip of the cap to philliesfan)

Perez actually looked pretty good today, only making two real mistake pitches to Dunn and Kearns. But how about that bullpen? Was that REALLY Brian Boehringer who struck out the side? Can't be.

Our offense still sucks, but at least Mondesi did something. I think moving him to the 4-spot was a good idea. And Lloyd better keep Jack Wilson at 2. He scored 2 of the 4 runs today! Mackowiak looked like himself as usual -- hit a bomb, but looked like crap on two strike outs. If the guy could ever learn what the strike zone is, he'd be a pretty good player.

Benson against Maddux tomorrow. Too bad the game is in the afternoon

Thanks for the reference. I think this is a good idea. There are just too many teams out there for us to keep up with , so it makes sense to have some OS "experts" to keep us all up to date with the inportant, key data.

As for Mondesi, thank god for that baserunning blunder the other night against the Phillies - (him trying to stretch that double into a triple in the 8th) - or else we'd be 0-6!

I don't know about that...we still would have had to drive him in

The very next hit was a single. Not saying that he definately would have scored from second, but on grass, he would have had a good shot.

True, but that single didn't come with runners in scoring position. The Bucs have become masters at getting men on and stranding them.
