    Re: Barry Bonds is ....

I'm with LionsFan. I too have taken Creatine. It seemed to work but I realized its all a placebo. I did a lot of hard research about it and tests show it doesnt help at all. Just another one of the many myths surrounding training.

How do we know that McGwire took steroids? Yes he took andro, but to the best of my knowledge, that's not a steroid. It wouldn't surprise me if he did, but there's no proof of it.

Canseco's another story. He admitted to steroids and there's no doubt he took them.

      <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

And that's exactly what I"m trying to point out! People assume that McGwire didn't do steroids, other's even say he did. But no one will outright accuse him of it like they are doing with Bonds! I don't think McGwire has even been asked about the steroid situation. Everyone is willing to jump on Bonds about him possibly taking steroids, but when we talk about McGwire then everyone says, "Oh no, not McGwire, he's a respectable man, he would never do anythign like that!" If there's one thing I hate the most, it's people who are hipocrites! We bash Bonds and then try to protect McGwire, who, by some of the people's convictions' in this board, shows obvious steroid use. So for the people against Bonds who ask the question, "There is no possible way any man can gain that much muscle in that short period of time?" I want to ask those people if they are fans of McGwire? Using this question, then I will ask "How is it possible that a man like McGwire could gain so much muscle in a short period of time? I know the answer, or at least the answer that most people would ignorantly conclude without proper evideNce, that "OH, HE DID STEROIDS!!!"

      <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

This has nothing to do with the question. When you accuse McGwire of doing steroids and then state "We all know he did them", you need proof to back up that statement. As for Bonds. I'm not accusing him of anything because I don't know. Just my opinion (as is this whole thread for the most part), but if McGwire was mixing steroids with andro and the other over the counter weight gainers he admitted to taking, then he's nuts. It's just common sense to not mix that stuff. That doesn't mean he never took them though....

And yes, McGwire has been asked numerous times about steroids and he's denied it like Barry and most others have. It hasn't flared up as much as Barry because of TIMING!! Caminitti and Canseco came out and said they did steroids and X percentage of the league was doing them after McGwire had already retired. This whole subject was rarely talked about until those 2 came into the public about it and stated things like "50% of the league is doing them"....

We all have our own opinion on what McGwire and Bonds and Sosa and other guys have or haven't done, but it's just an opinion. Nothing more than that. No one has any proof until MLB starts testing these guys and that will never happen.

            Re: Barry Bonds is ....

Just wanted to point out that I'm not accusing any person of taking steroids without proper evidence. You're innocent until proven guilty. I am a true die-hard Barry Bonds fan so let me just point that out. I'm not being biased towards him, I'm just stating that if you're going to accuse Bonds of steroids, or just openly state that he did with no evidence, then we should also look at the situation with Mark MCGwire. Me saying that he definately did steroids is the same ignorant proclaimation as if someone said that they know definately that Bonds did steroids. No one likes talking about McGwire for some reason, you watch Sportscenter and other sports related shows everyday and to my knowledge I have not once heard anyone question McGwire's work ethic or respect to the game of baseball. What I'm saying is that let's give Bonds the benefit of the doubt and not be hipocrites by judging him and not judging the other players who could have also possibly been on steroids. And to add on to the creatine debate, I don't know how much scientific studying you have done, I can guarantee that I have not done as much as you if that's the case. But what I'm saying is that creatine, from my personal experience and some of my friends who have also tried it, I can say that it has worked very well for US. Now creatine is not for everyone, and it won't give everyone the same results, that's true with any supplement you use. But creatine occurs natural in the body as well as in other protein-rich foods. It does boost your ATP count, which is used in cellular respiration to help heal and repair muscle damage. The reason it DOES increase muscle size is not that it just INCREASES the muscles, it doesn't. It helps to speed up the recovery time of your muscles. Your muscles recovering is what helps to increase muscle size. And that's for any type of supplement you take. And from your past post where you told me that you have done research on this for a long time, you probably already know this. I'm just preaching to the choir. I'm just saying that we also have to be reasonable and realize that Barry has been playing baseball for a long time. He's had plenty of time in the league to bulk up to the size you see now. You can't sit here and tell me that no man in the span of 3-4 years can gain 10lbs of muscle? I'm sure with hard work and dedication, which he obviously has, you could gain that amount of muscle mass. I also want to point out that I respect that you have studied this for a long time, but I have also tried many, many supplements in my life to see which one was the most effective. So don't see these statments I'm making as just being worthless information. I don't see your's as that.
