Portland would equal another domed stadium (or 50 rainouts a year).

DC is a likely candidate, but they don't need another team on the coast.

Vegas, Baby. Vegas. They can support it financially. Weather is nice. Visiting fans would travel to see their team play a road series. Plus, noone REALLY bets on baseball anyway!

don't look now but Norfolk, VA is making a huge push to get the expos and I think we might just get them. Everything I have read has said they are one of the finalist and with the possible backing of Robert Johnson who owns the Bobcats I could see it getting done. We are the largest state population wise without a professional sports team and Norfolk has the largest navy base in the world. To me it just makes sense.

Vegas is at best a fallback candidate for the expos. A vegas team would have virtually no local support. Also there's a question that the space for the stadium site may not even be available by the time the team moves. Norfolk gets an A for effort. But let's be real about this, baseball is not coming there. MLB would be taking too much of a risk putting the Expos in an area like Norfolk, and they can't afford to take it. I heard the Washington Times is reporting that sources close to the relocation committee says that it's basically been narrowed down to choosing between DC and NoVA. IMO NoVA would be better if for no other reason than Angelos bitching won't be taken as seriously than it would if the team was moving to DC.
