I know this will come as a shock, but Jake Diekman was again allowed to pitch to a decent right handed hitter in Ryan Zimmerman, who only drove in the go ahead run in extra innings.

Jake Diekman + RH batter = runs for your team.

Cutch is amazing. Also a nice throw by Polanco and a nice pick by Martin.

Can any other Oakland Athletics fan put together a chart of the team's hitting statistic, and win/loss record against good to top notch pitchers?

It seems like the Athletics simply can't hit against good pitchers. This is not giving me hope if/when they make it into the playoffs. Highest run differential in the majors, but from my recollection, it was simply against your non-playoff contenders. Just frustrating watching the A's play against the Mariners right now.

A .300 point difference in career OPS allowed between left and right-handed batters against him. Allowing a .770 OPS against righties, yuck.

Got damn he destroys lefties though.

Exactly. He does destroy lefties which is why he should only be a lefty specialist. His track record against righties this year proves that. In fact, he gave up his first walk of the season against a lefty last night.

Well, that 5 game winning streak was fun while it lasted. Come on July 31st!

Good win for the Brewers yesterday. Much needed after the long 2 weeks they had.

I asked David Feldman through Twitter what the A's record is against opposing teams 1 & 2 starters: "many teams don't have a "for sure" 1 & 2 so this is subjective but I have the A's at 20-18."

Marcus Stroman is just amazing to watch. He pitched a very good game and the Jays get the win with a rather weak lineup. it's going to take lights out pitching and some timely hitting for the next, who knows how long if the Jays want to stay alive.
