Please.
He's hitting .259 compared to Jason Bay's .301
He has 7 HR and 30 RBI compared to Bay's 10 and 35. And Matsui has 181 MORE at bats than Bay.“In my lifetime, we've gone from Eisenhower to George W. Bush. We've gone from John F. Kennedy to Al Gore. If this is evolution, I believe that in twelve years, we'll be voting for plants.” - Lewis BlackComment

Khalil's better than him, no way that's going to happen even if the media starts jumping on him. 17 errors? .259? What he only probably leads all rookies in walks but that's because he's a lead off guy.Comment

Living in Jersey I see a lot of Matsui, no way he get ROY. He's just not doing it on offense and his defense is awful. Every other day I turn on the T.V and he throws it away.
Got my homer goggles on here but Jason Bay for Rookie of the YearComment

Re: Who is your pick for rookie of the year?
The more I hear from these national sportswriters, the more I'm starting to accept that Jason Bay won't win NLROY. Everything I see is how Khalil Greene is the "man to beat" and Bay is the "closest competition".
This goes to show how terrible the system is. Just compare the numbers and I can't see how Greene could win:
Khalil Greene
464 AB
.269 BA
11 HR
57 RBI
.346 OBP
.418 SLG
.764 OPS
Jason Bay
320 AB
.297 BA
22 HR
67 RBI
.372 OBP
.581 SLG
.953 OPS
Now don't get me wrong. Khalil Greene is having a VERY good season. I just don't think he's having as good a season as Jason Bay is having.Comment

Oh well, I'm trying to view this without my "homer goggles" on, but everytime I look at it, I think Bay should win. His numbers are better than all NL rookies and he's had 100 some less AB's. The only thing that could possibly go against him is that he doesn't play for a contender (which IMO is unfair to Bay).Comment
