A player shall be considered a rookie unless, during a previous season or seasons, he has (a) exceeded 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched in the Major Leagues; or (b) accumulated more than 45 days on the active roster of a Major League club or clubs during the period of 25-player limit (excluding time in the military service and time on the disabled list).

Found it. He's not eligible due to the amount of time he spent on Minnesota's 25 man roster last season.

Call me a homer, but I'm going to have to go with Jason Bay in the NL.

He's tied for tops in the league with 9 HR, but the guy he's tied with has 98 more at bats.

He's third among rookies in RBIs (25), tied with Matsui of the Mets (though Matsui has more than twice the at bats) the guy in second place has 93 more ABs.

Ummm, I think Jason Bay is trying to run away with the NLROY. He has 8 RBI in the second game of the Pirates doubleheader tonight (1 HR) and 3 doubles. This guy is on fire. It's amazing to look at his numbers and realize that he's been out most of the year with an injury.

                  Damn...you beat me to it.

Did you see that throw to second he made early in the game? If it had been someone better than Nunez at the base, I think the runner would have been out.
