I was surprised to see him hitting 86-89 mph already. Figured it would be couple ticks below that to begin with.

I agree I was thinking he's be in the mid 80's. He looked alright. Still needs some time to get back into the swing of things.

I was very skeptical of a Zito comeback. Once I learned he had spent the time with the same guy that had righted Kazmir I definitely had more hope.

Carlos Martinez with a start for his run for the 5th spot. Two perfect innings, 3 K's.

Makes me curious what will happen if Jaime Garcia is healthy.

Susan Slusser didn't seem too impressed on Twitter but I don't care much at all about stats in the spring.

I'm hoping to get some video later if it exists publicly. I'm mostly interested in just a few things:

Movement on his fastball (he really has always had a pretty flat FB and was hoping he's improved on that with the reformed delivery.

Sharpness (not overall break) of the CB. I don't want to see just a big loop.

And if his changeup is where it used to be. It was far and away his best pitch.

Crap. Feel bad for Hunter Pence. I hope the Giants aren't the vindictive type.

If y'all need to hit a star player in return, hit Castro. lol

Don't matter, Giants can take this year off and recharge for the WS run in 16'.

Tommy John looking likely for Yu Darvish. Rangers can't catch a break.

Just heard about it! Another top tier ace lost for the season, most likely. Not only does this hurt the team the player belongs to but man it hurts baseball! When you have big named aces go down for a year at a time it hurts business. It seems like it's always the #1 or #2 starter of a staff that is lost.
