Thoroughly loving the trainwreck that is the Nationals right now. Yes it's early but I was wholly annoyed with their anointing as the hegemon of the NL East. They had big problems going into the year and I'm glad to see them knocked down a peg or two. Overall I don't *hate* them quite like I hate the Mets, Phillies, and Marlins but I definitely don't like the crowning and the hype. They have had years to prove themselves.

I'm sure they'll get Rendon back and somehow, some way get back in the mix.

        "Obviously", huh?

        We'll see.

With good pitching, you can win alot of games.

What I do know is that they are 12-7 with a 3-game lead in the division. With the terrible seasons that they have had recently, I'm going to enjoy it.

Even if it ends though, their day is coming very soon. Too much young talent in the organization to hold them down much longer.

I think he meant, obviously they're winning without a whole lot of production from Springer, Gattis, or Carter. All of them batting under 200 with very little power is not sustainable.

And do you believe they will get very little production from those guys all year? I don't.

So if those guys start hitting, do you think their pitching will fall apart? Again, I don't.

Whatever happens, I'm happy if they go .500 this year. The start they've had is a breath of fresh air for a franchise that has been down for most of the last decade.

No I don't. That was my point. They're winning without those guys. They should keep winning once those bats wake-up too.

I was watching the news this morning and it's just madness down there. Obviously baseball shouldn't be a high priority. Hopefully all Baltimore OS'ers are safe and continue to be so.

The Astros pitching is not that good outside of MCcugh, they've been pitching over their heads. So, unless they start hitting over .220 as a team they will eventually come back to earth. Also Carter is not that good anyways, he's barely above replacement level. I don't see them winning more than 70 games.

You really don't like the Astros do you? You haven't said a thing about the A's, Angels, or Rangers all season.

The Astros having Lowrie hurt doesn't help them , though...

I think it's just because the Astros have our number, for whatever reason. I'd feel better going into a series against the Tigers. Just seems as though whenever we play them they get all the breaks. Saying that they will never surpass the Yankees, Bears, Cowboys, and Seahawks as my my most hated sports teams, but if they keep beating us they could sneak into the top 5.

Phillies send Dominic Brown to AAA

Chris Carter has hit more homers than anyone the last 2 seasons.

My knowledge? Where in what I said am I wrong? Sorry to inform you but Chris Carter has a career WAR of 1.5, simply put that's awfull, and that's after posting a 1.8 last year, whIch isn't good either. If you'd like I could be more of a Sabre nerd and pull up more stats but I think you get the point.

When it's all said and done, Altuve, Springer, Gattis (If he figures out AL pitching), and maybe Lowrie will be your best hitters this season, but you need more. And outside of McCugh your rotation is average at best.
