It's funny you say your not a Yankee fan, yet you seem to be doing an awful lot of Yankee nut hugging in this thread.

Being a Sox fan, this was awesome to see. I love how most Yankee fans just discount it as "nothing big", and that they still have a comfortable lead. Losing 22-0 is embarassing, no matter who you are. The Sox have come from being 10 1/2 games out to 3 1/2, and you guys still say it doesn't matter. I'll be the first to admit the Red Sox haven't got it done in the playoffs against the Yankees, but you never know when it could happen, considering how close we were last year. Thing that helps us this year is that our pitching is LIGHT YEARS better than the Yankees, which is what you need in the postseason.

Anyways, back to last night: :y4: :y4: :y4:

I usually don't get up in arms when the Yanks lose, but considering how poorly they have been playing as of late and how good the Sox have been playing lately, do you expect us to not comment when the division is down to only 3 1/2 games and we have a 2 1/2 game lead in the WC? I honestly think if we were to meet the Yanks in the playoffs, we could possibly beat them this year considering how good our pitching staff has been and how poor the Yankees has been.

How can you not be the team to beat when the Yankees have been in 2 of the past three World Series' (6 of the last 7).

Yea, they haven't won in their last two trips, but six of the last seven still means someone had to beat them to get there. Don't forget, the Angels had to beat the Yankees before they played the Twins and the Giants in their championship run.

I'm not trying to be biased or anything, but the championship has gone through New York in 7 straight years.

and the buffalo bills went to 4 straight SB's nobody remembers who comes in 2nd.

I think there is something to the "team to beat" notion based on previous years but at some point the monicker fades and you have to re-earn it. With the Yankees floundering lately and the A's and Red Sox flying high, the Yankees certainly do not look like the team to beat. Now obviously they can turn it around and restore some of their image but as of now they may be the worst team ithat would be in the playoffs if they started today. The Yankees' only strength right now is Hernandez and Rivera. Quantril has been terrible in August (ERA over 6.00) and they aren't hitting (this was the team people were predicting would score 1000 runs this year). Unless Brown and Mussina can find some semblance of what they were last year (and Arod starts hitting with men on) the Yankees will not make it out of the first round this year.

                      ? Everyone remembers the Bills.

Obviously, you remember them for losing four straight Super Bowls, but regardless they are remembered.

To say that you aren't worried about the Yankees because they haven't won a championship since 2000 is a lie. Just look at this thread. There is a reason why someone wanted to point out that the Yanks were losing in the fourth inning.

Simply, the Yanks have been in 6 of the last 7 World Series'. If you watch baseball you know that.

Yanks fans can be arogant all they want to be but if you dont win the title its a failure and dont lie and say its not so lets see. Since 00 all your seasons have been failures since thats what you so love to judge yourselves on.

I'm talking truth. You stated that the Yanks haven't won a championship since 2000. I stated that despite all that, they've been in 6 of the past 7 World Series' which isn't arrogant. It's the truth.

I personally don't look at losing in the World Series as a failure. Don't confuse me with the typical "We have 27 championships, what do you have! HAHA" Yankee fan.

If you think winning the AL Pennant is a failure than that's on you. I don't.
