I would put any amount of money on Cano to pick it up in the second half, he's too good of a hitter not to. But, hey we will gladly take him back. Come back home Robby.

Surprised it didn't get mentioned, but what did people think of the "SAFE" call in the 9th inning of Jays-Astros game? Some like ESPN billing it as "controversial victory".....

Actually the preview pic on the video itself perfectly shows part of the "controversy". The fielder tripped over Reyes which prevented him from getting the ball, but the obvious argument in Reyes defense is that he was on the base,so it's the fielders job to move around him. Had Reyes been off the bag, then that could've been called interference or something?

i'm not sure what Reyes could've done. Sure, he could've stood up but he bent down with his hands over his head because he thought the ball was gonna land on him. He is directly on the base and it's as much his territory as the fielder. Honestly, this wouldn't have been an issue if Altuve took control of the situation and gone for it rather than Villar.

It was just unfortunate for the Astros but no controversy. I'm sure the ball appeared as though it was going to come down on the left side of the bag but then came down on the right which is why Villar took it and not Altuve.

I don't think anyone (including Reyes) could have done anything different given the circumstances. The bottom line is that the Jays caught a break and Houston didn't. That's baseball.

Chris Archer: first pitcher in MLB history to strike out 10 or more batters without walking anyone in 3 straight starts.

Don't know what the more surprising fact is: that it's never been done before or that Chris Archer did it.

It may have been done before but STATS Inc.'s data only goes back to 1914. Still he may probably very well be the only guy to have done that.

                  That's pretty crazy stuff.

Haven't been looking forward to this Braves/Padres series. I was big fans of Kimbrel and J-Up in Atlanta and I'm not exactly thrilled to see them come back because I wish they were still part of the longterm plans of the Braves, especially Kimbrel.

Correa and Appel will probably be solid pieces at the big league level, but boy, forfeiting the right to have Buxton and Bryant in the same farm system (!!!!!) is one giant opportunity cost.

Maybe it's me being greedy but his speed is better than just 9 SBs.

Beyond that pedantic point, he has been a great surprise...I think as a Braves fan, I would've been happy with a 55-year old Marquis Grissom if it meant no more BJ.

Man, I know it's early in the month but ever since June has arrived the starting pitching has been excellent and of course, the offense has been rock solid for the Jays. If they can just have at least average production from the starting rotation and the bullpen gets fixed this Jays team could make things VERY interesting.

I'm really hoping May doesn't end up being the difference in a playoff appearance or not for this team.

Man, I didn't want to say anything, but why the crap did Fredi pull Shelby again? The bullpen has blown the game once again...I'd lose my mind if I was a starter on this staff!
