Nope...the ball was a liner that cleared the bleachers.

...and watching Joc hit is so fun. Kid has massive power and that one was smoked!

Didn't clear them.. about 3/4ths of the way up. Some guy caught it in the aisle.

His team happened to be hitting at the time. He knew the lights would come back on eventually and by then the Dodgers would have likely been up to bat when they did. Why put your offense at even more of a disadvantage against one of the best pitchers in the game?

I get that it's against your favorite team, but that's exactly what a manager is supposed to do. Keep his team out of disadvantageous situations.

I must be blind...I could have sworn it just cleared the last row.

I thought it did, too, when I saw it live. But they showed the replay on the Cubs broadcast and showed the guy catch it

Cody Asche will not be returning to 3rd base.

I was watching the Dodger feed...needless to say they did not show a bunch of replays.

At least Joc went yard again.

I remember reading that 20-25 HRs was his probable ceiling. He'll have that many by the All Star break. Just goes to show how hard projecting power is.

Until last year he hadn't shown this kind of power...and even the 33 homers were in the PCL so they get discounted a tad. Up until then he had around 50 homers in 1500 minor league PA's...I can see why people thought that, but as you said you can't account for how people actually develop.

Of course I understand what Maddon was trying to do.

I get that you're a Cubs fan, but you might want to acknowledge the gamemanship aspect of letting Kershaw linger on the mound for 10 minutes without throwing a pitch.

Absolutely it's gamesmanship, I never really said it wasn't. That's what managers do. It's all they can do while the game is going on. I don't really understand the frustration with it as a fan.

And honestly, the 10 minute delay shouldn't really affect the pitcher. You treat it like a rest when your team is hitting. I wasn't paying attention, but I'm sure he could've gotten/did get some warm up pitches before they started back live play.

Royals knock out Felix and are up 4-1 in the 7th and not one post from our Mariners fan proclaiming the franchise a joke or ranting that he's done. What is going on!?
