Good news for you Mets fans: Grienke is flying home for the birth of his child. He's gonna miss tomorrow's start.

Fun fact: Bartolo Colon has a .147 batting average, its not the lowest batting average in the Mets' lineup tonight.

Time for Heyward to make his appearance against ATL tomorrow.

Turn on the Dodgers game because I get an ESPN alert that Kershaw was 9 outs from a perfect game.. Gives up a hit to the first batter I watch him face.. Lol

He might be back on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Kershaw has quietly put together a 27 inning scoreless streak of his own.

So much for Clayton Kershaw having a down year.

In the month of July Greinke and Kershaw have combined for 1 ER in 56 IP (0.16 ERA)

If you adjust for the out-of-whack HR/FB rates, he's having the best season of his career.

They said on the broadcast it's the first time ever that a pitcher has had 10+ Ks, no BBs, and 0 runs allowed in three consecutive starts.

It's like the steroid era for pitchers. Records are falling every other week.

From ESPN: "Mets: 2nd team in Live Ball era (since 1920) to have #4 & #5 batter in starting lineup each enter game w/ 100+ AB and BA under .180 (Elias)."

Bring back Bobby Bonilla...he's on the payroll anyways.
