Re: Art Howe...Can he get his walking papers please
earth to the wilpons.. how's Guerrero's back??? yeah, it must be severe enough to hit over 25 hrs, etc, etc.. i also agree that Howe must go.. he makes plenty of bone head decisions to make my head spin... the best quote.. "Kazmir is untouchable" (at the beginning of season).. ugh.. right now, i have seen enough of Zelie, .205 hitting Phillips, both lefties in the pen (Franco/Stanton).. it is almost embarrasing to watch.. oh wait, they have lost 18 of the past 20 or so games...Comment

Re: Art Howe...Can he get his walking papers please
I say release Franco, give him season tickets or something, put half of the roser back into the minor leagues, put reyes back at shortstop, trade kaz away, trade piazza to the AL for a good outfielder with a bat, trade jason phillips and stanton make it a 3 for 1 deal, i dont care, pick up some free agent pitching, trade glaving and leiter for younger talent ie maybe the A's? then we can start talking about the 2006 playoffs. we need to have a winning record for a year before we get "pennant fever".
Things not to do: trade away top prospects for anyone over 30, sign randy johnson for 50 million, sign kevin millwood ( I can almost feel this thought going through wilpons fat head), do not make john franco pitching coach, trade reyes, floyd, cameron, wright.
I bet wilpon will do everything i said not to do during the offseason, then claim "This is the year" when they are 39-42 at the allstar break and 4 games behind the wildcard.Comment

If Howe's gone from the Mets I bet he'd end up in Toronto next season. GM JP Ricciardi adores everyone that ever had anything to do with Oakland.Comment

Re: Art Howe...Can he get his walking papers please
Blah to Howe and his helping the A's. Mr. No idea what I'm doing Ken Macha has done a fine job there and I know for sure it has nothing to do with him. Macha has a fine unit of players. Am I taking all of the credit away from Macha? Yes.
So, what am I saying about Howe? I'm saying that he isn't a good manager.
The Mets can do better. Piniella would be perfect for them, but I bet he honors his contract in Tampa."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
