Re: 8/3 - 8/16 Game Discussion Thread
Don't look now, but we've closed to 8.5 games back of STL. Along with the Jays, we're the 2 hottest teams in baseball.
Aside from 2 more series against PIT and STL each and a random west coast swing through LAD and SF, we're looking at a TON of sub-.500 teams coming up. The Reds (2x), Brewers (3x), the Miggy-less and Price-less Tigers, White Sox, D'Backs, Phillies (no! not the juggernaut Phillies again), Braves, and a couple of makeup games sprinkled in.
Whether the Cubs make the playoffs and even win the division (yes, I said it) will be totally dependent on the old adage of "beating the teams we should beat."Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

It is so much more affordable compared to other sports,at least depending on the team. Toronto for example, you can get some good seats in 200 level baseline for under $50. Go to a Leafs game, you're paying at least $60 for the cheapest seats in the arena(up in 300 level, high rows, behind the nets).
Announced numbers are good, but from what I saw at least,so many empty seats. Behind home plate, you'd see a number of empty seats the entire game. They'd show above the dugouts and you'd see almost an entire row or two empty on both sides.
I think Pennington basically just replaces him,his OBP vs lefties is almost same as Valencia and his OBP vs RHP is better.
But some of Jays moves are questionable. Like why is Loup who has 5.19ERA and .286 AVG vs Lefties, still on MLB roster but Delabar who has 3.33ERA and .114AVG vs lefties, in AAA.....And to make it more frustrating to see 12 of his past 14 relief appearances,Loup has allowed at least 1 baserunner. Just have to wonder what is seriously the Jays reasoning behind not only keeping him on MLB roster, but keeping him over guys who have been real solid guys in the bullpen, now forced to stay in AAA(Delabar and Tepera, both with AVG vs LHB just over .100)
People in those seats have access to a suite/lounge so a lot of people spend all or parts of the game sitting there, especially on a hot day game.

Re: 8/3 - 8/16 Game Discussion Thread
They should have suite/lounge seats separately. Cause you'd have who knows how many people going up there instead of actually sitting down and watching the game. That's how I see it at other places, the lounge seats are separate purchases, sure they might not always sell, but it at least means you can fit more people in the stadium.Comment

No way he can be benched right now. I have no idea what they will do but it will be quite the log jam.
Knowing how much Hurdle is obsessed with players getting days off Kang and Mercer will be everyday players and Harrison will go back to his role last year spelling Marte, Polanco and rotating through the infield on a pretty (almost everyday) basis.Comment

Just to show I'm not biased, I'm not really liking the new TV booth guy for the Phillies, former major leaguer Ben Davis. I need to listen more, but I don't like the way he handled the final out replay yesterday on a K by Giles. He gave this douchey "by youuuuuu" on his commentary. Actually I wish they could switch the radio and TV guys around. Love Larry Anderson commentary on radio.Comment

Seriously though, I like the majority of the commentary booths in MLB they're definitely a lot more excitable than the rather staid commentary that I hear every night with Buck and Pat. The douchey types though, I can live without. Hopefully this Davis guy doesn't turn into one of those.
