Huge inning for the Cubs, 6 already home, nobody out.

I hope the Pirates don't do something stupid now because of that clean take out slide.

Good series. Of course you'd like the doubleheader sweep but even in a pennant race that's more than I think is fair to ask for.

2 back. Only problem is we're building the pesky Cardinals' lead along with these wins.

Edit: Or is it 3? Not sure if the standings pages have updated yet.

Yea I just saw video of that slide on PTI and it was clean. Maybe a little late but I still don't see the huge problem with it. And the rule on sliding into a base is if you can reach it with your hand it's a clean slide. The questionable slide, IMO was the one right before that of Schwarber.

Kang has a torn MCL as well as a fractured tibial plateau. Out for the rest of the season.

Roger McDowell's performance in developing these pitching "prospects" has been beyond abysmal this year. Matt Wisler is straight up garbage every start after the first time through the order...there has been no improvement whatsoever. So hard to watch this insanity.

It just seems to me that the Braves pitchers don't really vary their patterns enough as the game goes on. The only one that has that idea going into his starts is Shelby Miller.

How much of that is due to the catcher?

I have no confidence in both AJ's nor Bethancourt's receiving abilities and how they call the game. The best we've had the past couple of years they let go, Gerald Laird.

Apparently Kang's injury is so severe it might extend into next season.

I do feel bad for him, he was such a fun story.

And in full disclosure, I thought he was going to suck. Have been nothing but impressed.

Terrible news all around. I have to echo your sentiments I thought Kang wasn't going to do diddly poo this year but he proved all of us wrong. Here's hoping he can come back stronger than ever once he's healed up.

I see a pitch to the back of the guy who took out Kang. Nothing fancy or crazy, a take your base retaliation type.

And if I'm the umpire I would consider tossing the guy and definitely warning both benches. As Kehlis and I said earlier it was a clean slide. He could reach the base with his hand, didn't go in too late (IMO), didn't go in spikes up, etc. It was just an unfortunate play. The slide I would really call into question was the Schwarber slide the play right before that. Because the guy, not sure if that was Kang or not, dropped the ball and the DP wasn't going to get turned anyways.
