I thought it was interesting that article noted that there are no take-out slides in Japan. Guys coming over here just aren't used to having to worry about avoiding the runner. You can see in the video that he just isn't used to having to get his feet off the ground before completing the throw.

It's a little of both I guess - the Cubs definitely had some success in the Baker years (relatively speaking, with this franchise).

I just read that Matt Williams went to the mound to take out Scherzer, Scherzer screamed at him and Matt Williams turned around and left him in.Mets/Giants/Knicks/Rangers/Manchester United/Notre Dame Football

That entire team is going to look completely different next season.
EDIT: I just finally saw video of the incident. Man, Scherzer basically cussed him out and Williams sheepishly walked back to the dugout. What a pathetic display on his part.Last edited by SPTO; 09-18-2015, 09:35 PM.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

At least Scherzer didn't go Ted Lilly mode in that thing lol
(for those who don't get it/remember, Ted Lilly "allegedly" fought his manager in the tunnel past the dugout and gave him bloody nose after a heated argument on the mound when he was being pulled from the game)Comment
