This. Now there's an even greater incentive/advantage to win your division.

And the Orioles won the wild card game 3 years ago, so it's been kind to us.

Not gonna lie...that stare down between Joe West and Madbum was pretty funny. I'm shocked that West didn't send him packing.

Friday, chance for some more playoff clinches! Royals have clinched today, Pirates and Cards earlier on this week.

        Jays clinch if:
They win AND Twins + LAA lose

        Cubs clinch if:
        They win AND Giants lose

          I disagree.

I think there should be a max of 1 day off during a 7-game series, 0 before the LCS. Teams play consistently without days off between home/away stands and it allows deeper teams to show their talent. I mean the 4th starter is huge in the regular season but he's almost retired to the bullpen in nearly every 7-game series with the #1 guy going on 3-days rest; in addition, managers don't have to worry about "resting" a guy because he's pitched 3-straight days.

Allow 1-2 off before each series then allow the teams to go at it in full.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Greg Holland shut down with a torn UCL. That's a big loss.

They've got enough fireballers in the pen that it doesn't hurt TOO bad but the starting pitching hasn't been nearly as good this season and if they need to go to the pen early in games...Well, it's going to be interesting to see what the Forrest Gump of managers does.

Except that he's vastly overrated and about the 3rd or 4th best RP on his own team. They'll still need to fill the void.

Big series tonight as the Pirates travel to play the Cubs. Looking for Cole to get that opening series win.

Love the atmosphere at Wrigley today. Feels like October.

Crowd just went nuts for that last K by Lester.

Pirates hold off a 9th inning Cubs rally to win 3-2. Going to need some "help" from the Giants to clinch the WC today.

That works great if the two cities are geographically close, but if you are dealing with an East Coast/West Coast matchup that just isn't feasible.
