I'm guessing the OF was playing pretty deep to counter Rizzo's power. Maybe to take away the lines as well.

You're right. Cole's hitting now. One batter off.

Normally i'd agree but Arrietta (sp) is on another world right now.

Cole goes down in the blink of an eye, 2 down.

Love it. Cole got Arrieta on a breaking ball, so right back atcha.

Pirates aren't close to hitting him right now. Again, the ball that Cutch poked back into center was low, and a pretty good pitch.

Cubs might as well start celebrating now as they have already picked up the WIN.

Hurdle got crushed here today for starting Rodriguez today and now it will be worse. What a waste of an important late game defensive replacement. That decision was absolutely mind boggling.

Kurkjian said it was the first time the team's leading HR hitter didn't start a do-or-die game since 1996 and Ryan Klesko.

Hurdle's justification (and he's not necessarily wrong) is that defense and pitching wins in October but all games in October aren't a do or die against Arietta. You need any and all offense you can get.
