No one expected the Yanks to even make the playoffs. Girardi will not be fired.

I have absolutely no idea why you think the ratings would have any affect on whether or not I like the playoff format.

            Kris Bryant, LF
            Anthony Rizzo, 1B

Schwarber was pretty bad the last month+ of the season. Coghlan is noticeably absent, and 3 guys are out of position on D. We'll see.
Just takes up internet space..... definitive lists will be out soon enough today.

And I just took up more internet space by quoting that list... DOH!

Had a dream last night that the Pirates put up 9 first inning runs, 7 off of Arrieta. I was awake for an hour before I realized that actually didn't happen...lets hope it doesn't!

                    That lineup seems like nonsense.

It wouldn't surprise me, but it seems unlikely. Someone in the Cubs thread mentioned they assumed Maddon would choose Defense over Schwarber, who is almost 0 for September. In the big OF in Pittsburgh, I hope that's the case.

And I don't know what you mean by out of position...Castro plays 2B just fine, and has been there for over a month. Bryant isn't a plus defender anywhere, but seems more than capable of playing COF. Schwarber, if he starts, is out of position anywhere

LaStella at 3B, Bryant and Schwarber in OF. LaStella is a natural 2B and has played sparingly at 3B, Bryant is a natural 3B and has played more, but still sparingly in the OF, Schwarber is just a defensive liability. That's what I was saying by 3 guys out of position.

I was the one talking about Schwarber off the bench. We'll see what happens. It's all just speculation. Maddon has about 100 different lineups he can throw out there, so there are a lot of options to consider. Arrieta limits hard contact, so Maddon might be considering going with a stronger offensive lineup against Cole and giving up some defense because of Arrieta on the mound.

Not a lot of Cubs fans today downtown but I have to imagine it would have been hard to get tickets and make accommodations on such short notice.

Highest TV ratings ever for a Wild Card game last night. Most watched baseball game on ESPN in 12 years. Set records in Houston and on WatchESPN as well.

This is why it's good to have new blood in the playoffs.

The Jays won't make a dent in the US ratings but here in Canada you're going to see ratings THROUGH THE ROOF! I wouldn't be surprised to see records falling to the wayside here with the Jays playing.

Yeah, Yankees are the reason for that crazy rating. Astros/Royals Game 2 on a Friday afternoon probably won't do as well, lol.
